I am now at a loss to why I thought he'd gone full gammon. If he's a member of 'my party never wins so we need to change the system' then he is, at least, not a tory.

I think he has a couple of quotes and opinions out there that, taken in isolation, could give that impression. But from what I can tell he just has a genuine hardline belief in freedom of thought and freedom of expression. Which means he tends to come out with things that offend just about everybody at one point or another.

I voted for Blackadder, incidentally.
