Was stuck on the platform at Falmer for an hour and a half. There was a Brighton bound train on the other platform stationary for an hour. One was stuck at Moulsecoomb for over an hour as well apparently.

Huge wait at Falmer for Brighton bound train. One finally turns up and leaves packed to the limit. That then gets stuck at Moulescomb with the aircon turned off. Loads of locals abandoned the train and walked down to Lewes Rd or up to Ditchling Road. No idea when that train finally got going but an awful journey home.
On that cattle train and got off at Moulescombe. Driver could have said we weren't going to go far even with power restored due to broken down train in front. They want more money but can't use common sense. Southern Fail all-round.

Wow just wow
Got amazingly lucky today by the sounds of it
On the final whistle down the stairs in the North
brisk walk toward the station fully expecting to bypass and use the buses as usual on days like these
But as the queue was rapidly moving down the ramps headed that way instead
It kept on moving until I was just outside the platform
Then a few more of us were let onto the platform
Got on the train just after 5 ish Back in Lewes Waitrose soon after wards Grabbed a drink or 2 started the a brisk walk north wards reached earwig corner by the time Wifey cabs arrived
home before 1800 hrs Never even saw the 29 bus I had intended catching homewards Massive Result by the sound of it

Feel desperately sorry for anybody stuck on one of those jam-packed post-match trains with a full bladder. Doesn't bear thinking about ☹️
It's a terrible situation and like you feel sorry for everyone caught up in this but one that no one can really do anything about. Once there are trespassers, the power gets turned off and so does the air con. There are procedures to get open doors etc for ventilation but if the train is that full it's almost impossible. No one has any idea how long it's going to last so everyone is in the dark - literally and figuratively. No where else for the trains to go - can't go round the issue. The blame lies solely with the trespassers.

That was a nightmare, packed train from Worthing to Falmer. Then even worse trying to get back after the game. Got a taxi back from Brighton to Worthing, couldn’t be bothered to wait any longer for a connecting train. Oh well at least we won, which helps.

If only the train issues were publicised before the game…

Uber were quoting £76 at one stage for a cab to Lewes from Falmer as well.

Trespassing on the line causing carnage was/is the issue post match not the overtime ban.
Ah sorry - didn’t realise. I stand corrected 👍
