Hikers rest. Albion through and through and rough as f***.

I think every team needs an extremely hostile home pub...I can never gey used to us all drinking in a false spirit of bonhommie in the Sportsman.

Especially when we are playing northerners with their silly accents and haircuts.

How far would it take to walk from the Hikers Rest to the Stadium ?

Quite like the sound of the Hikers

They should apply for a bloody great extension, that would get the locals going.

Do they have a car park?
We campaigned against its expansion.

Will people really want to drink at the ground for more than, say, an hour though? I'd much rather stay in the pub and arrive at the stadium just in time for a quick one. Drinking under a football stand on a plain concrete concourse surrounded by the smell of stale burgers and Sky Sports News on mute is actually not much fun.

Have you been asleep for the last 2 years?

What a pair of dickheads those two are/look. I've no time for the old landlord's opinions on football/the albion/Falmer, but if someone leaves you something as significant as a pub when they pass away the very least you can do is not go against exactly what they've spent the last ten years standing for. Scum.

What a complete knob jockey you are. Time to move on now, it's a win-win situation for everyone.

Now the Gappers have full say on how they want to run the pub, you'd expect some changes.

Get over it and move on

People will go to the pubs around Brighton Station especially the Lord Nelson and hop on the train at 2.30 pm. They are not going to trek over the dual carriageway for a pint at the Swan imo. After the game they will get the train straight back to Brighton and resume their drinking.

It does make me laugh. My parents know some nimby's in Ovingdean who are convinced hoardes of football hooligans will be marauding around the streets in Ovingdean at 5.30 pm on matchdays. The ignorance is staggering.

You know what, I kinda agree with you.

I've heard that the Hikers Rest is going to be the designated pub for away fans from 2011/12 onwards.
