As Beatles tribute bands go, I think Oasis were better. And although Noel is the more talented, I understand from people who have worked with both that Liam is actually the nicer of the two 😲

Who knew ?

But 'van' is still the biggest **** in the business after 60 years so some things never change

Loving people cleverly pointing out the brand new observations that Oasis are heavily influenced by The Beatles. It’s funny because since Definitely Maybe was released in 1994, I’ve never once heard anyone make this comparison before.

Well done for such insightful, original posts!

I've been told off for taking relevant quotes from other threads

Oasis were outstanding in their prime with so many essential sing-along songs, but in truth I preferred Blur and the pathos lyrics of For Tomorrow, etc.

The Stone Roses had the greatest debut album of all time IMHO. Their flame burned shorter, but much brighter.

The intro of I Wanna Be Adored is truly ethereal.

They win it for me.

Whoever it was that did, 'Kinky Afro'.

The other ones were shit.
That was a magnificent album.

But you are being harsh.

The moment (89-97) has gone. Now check out the sounds. There was a great deal that was 'popular' that was great. And a gread deal more that passed most people by that was also great.

I gave up tribes in 78 when punk waned. After that.....love my musics. Love thy musics

"Sometimes I fantasize
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars they burn below me
Don't these times
Fill your eyes
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars they burn below me
Are you all alone
Are you made of stone?"

With the riots of a few weeks ago and polarized political viewpoints dividing friends and families for years, the country never felt so all alone.

35 years on, the song speaks louder than ever.
