Both had a phenomenal debut album with accompanying B sides and singles.

Then were patchy at best.

I used to see a girl whose sister (Emily) was a long-standing girlfriend of Mr. Gillespie.
We were invited to go as his guests to Glasto (possibly '94?) but I bottled it, due to his reputation for huge consumption of 'things'.
I've always regretted that decision. :)
Did she live in Havelock rd?

Mani's 4005 bass 🤩

THe bands are in no way comporable IMO

Oasis efforts to be the beatles came out more like Freddy and the dreamers.

Still in Brighton
Roses much more seminal body of work.

Oasis a good sing-song football band.

Both singers tireless knobheads and both dreadful live.

Both bands, back in the day, seemed to have fans I fecking hated at 6th form and Uni, making their music hard to listen to.

Did enjoy Oasis at Glasto '95 though tbf!

Not a fan of either particularly, but it seems to me that The Roses had much more variety. Every Oasis song is the same dirgy speed (haven't checked BPMs but i bet they're all close), the same guitar sound, the same whiney vocals. I get that its probably great to sing long to in a crowd when you're pissed, by my god is it boring to listen to for any period of time.

Oasis - Quoasis more like. Liam Gallagher is an Ian Brown clone. Oasis were just a mainstream pop band, riding on the coat tales of the Manchester scene. Nothing more in my opinion.
