missed the headliner, rest of it was competent but dull. which is a bit refreshing.
She did alright. So did Starmer ' but people expect that from him and less from her. 'Nothing new about a Labour leader who wants to raise taxes' was a very good retort to Starmers last question.
All bollocks though. Labour want to tax and spend, fine. Seems Truss wants to spend but not tax, just borrow. She knows that it will be a future Labour gov that will have to deal with the debt, knowing the Tories can criticise the inevitable taxes needed to pay it, thus giving them a future route back into power. And so the cycle will continue.
With no election imminent, Starmer will take some time to size up his new opponent, while Truss will arguably never be in a position as well prepared or as strong as she was in today.

They have a point. In addition, Truss will have been thinking about facing Starmer since Starmer was elected as the Labour leader, 2.5 years ago. Starmer, on the other hand, over the past few weeks, maybe even couple of days. Give it time.
