Based on the "Kevin Bacon game" you have to connect Gus with another footballer or manager in six moves or less (including Gus and target).
Points are given for direct contact that's (1 point), indirect is (2 points), lowest number wins.
Again Gus has to have worked directly with the first person and the next person has to have worked with the next part of the chain till the target is reached.

Example: Gus to Diego Maradona in 3 points ( this is all that would be posted to start with. Lets say after a max of 10 bids the person with the lowest call would have to prove it as below).

Gus played with Zola,
Zola played with Maradona

Total: 3 points
Gus (0)
Zola (1)
Maradona(2)

Then the winner posts the next challenge etc etc

So to start of:

Gus to Matthiaus Sammer in 5 points

Gus Play for Chelsea;
Chelsea Clinton lives in America;
America Ferrera was the star of US sitcom Ugly Betty;
Ugly Betty was set in new York, as was other US sitcoms Sex and the City and Friends;
Friends are undoubtedly better than Enemies;
Enemies can sometimes go to War;
War, War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing;
Nothing, in numerical terms, is zero
A Zero was a fighter plane used by great effect by the Japanese Navy in the Second World War;
The Second World War was quite a kerfuffle involving many countries including Britain, Russia, Japan and Germany
Germany is the birthplace, I would presume, of Matthiaus, who is someone I have never heard of.

What do I win?

What's the difference between direct and indirect (apart from 1 and 2 points)?

Direct means played with or managed by Gus, indirect would be the next person in the chain but not direct linked to Gus.

So the one i put above was: Gus to Mattius Sammer in 5 points

Gus managed Elliott Bennett
Bennett is managed by Paul Lambert
Lambert played with Sammer

5 points

Elliott Bennett (direct 1 point)
Paul Lambert (indirect 2 points) because they have no direct link to Gus
Matthiaus Sammer (indirect 2 points)

but the ruben sosa one is less degrees? i'm confused

can someone do another one so i can get the hang of it

The idea is you're supposed to do it in less than six degrees. DL is setting the challenge of far fewer.

In this instance, it's actually 3 points (not 2, as MBH claimed).

Poyet > Sosa (direct link =1)
Sosa > Sammer (no direct link =2)

3 points in total.

This has now got me thinking back about Ruben Sosa (I reckon I would have only seen him on Gazetta at the time) and he was just SO good.
