Not as simple as that though, is it. You can't even swear anymore at football.
Yes

You can, I do, it's all about context, it's about not being a ****, it's about respecting boundaries, and respecting other people. Times have changed, get over it, if you want what you want, and if you want respect, then show some.
You're missing the point somewhat.
I know of someone today who was approached by a steward at half-time, told they'd been 'reported' during the first half and as a result were under surveillance.
So, you can just be a regular fan, be reported by someone with a grudge, and be walking an Amex tightrope.
Again, you are missing the point.
Someone can 'report' someone else for no good reason. That person, whether they are told it or not, is immediately on a last chance. Their card is marked.
I'm going to have you reported by 5 people at the Cup game. Enjoy the experience.
AND it's done by seat number. It's not always the same person in each seat!

Presumably then, if they keep getting reports about people which turn out to have no substance they will then have a look at the person doing the reporting - that would be sweetBut then, you are 'observed', and when the stewards realise you're just a normal fan enjoying the game, they will apologise and leave you alone. However, if they see something that breaks the rules (rules written on the back of every match ticket, and displayed prominently in the ground), then you are quite rightly ejected.
Can't see the problem myself. Then again, i'm not the sort of person that causes trouble.

It's OK, I know Phil's row and seat number. The reports will drip feed in during the next game - 5, 10 or maybe 20. He seems to think nothing is amiss. Let's test that.

Why is swearing so important to you?
Yes. But likewise, as Bozza and others seem to imply, somebody holding a grudge could report you and you are instantly on your last warning. If you've got stewards watching you, the ref denies us a stone wall penalty, and you call him a few obscene names in the heat of the moment (which i'm sure the majority would) you could end up losing your season ticket.
Seems a bit ridiculous to me.

Good question,
It's not. But, to mischievous people like yourself, it seems so important that no one else does. Why would anyone want to report on a fellow Brighton fan?
And a typical one of someone avoiding the point. Why can't I show a bit of passion anyway? Swearing doesn't hurt people.
Because being a Brighton fan doesn't stop some people from being complete twats at times.
