What are these rules that only apply to football ?

Have you just Quantum Leaped here from 1987?

“Ziggy - it says here that football tickets are non-transferable and its now illegal to lend my ST to Barry in Accounts? When did that happen?”

I think it's pretty simple, if you KNOW you can't make the majority of the games for next season, then why buy a ticket?

Their could be someone on the waiting list that can makes all games and can't get a season ticket.

I know its very simplistic, but my job and family life allow me to all games with my sons, so I commit to paying for the ticket. Sometimes, rarely, I might not be able to go to games because of people not checking their calendar to see if their special day coincides with the Albion playing. In which case, the exchange is my friend.

Come of it the majority on here that have a query are able to attend most games. Just object if you miss say one game and want to pass it on it cost an additional £45 and cheaper to leave seat empty

FFS. 10 years of being a STH, 6 with the missus, 3 kids and this very day a colourful renewal pack drops through the letterbox, gets opened by the kids and just how much money I spend on it has been revealed.

Just set up an MyAlbion account for my son, in order to transfer his season ticket and when i start the cancellation process no ticket appears. I think the problem is that I haven't linked the ticketing account but when I try this it just takes me to edit profile.

I seem to remember there was something weird about assigning a ticketing account when I did mine years ago

The most curious thing..
Though to be honest how many adults are there that attend Albion matches that don't have a smart phone and no form of photo ID at all? Must be a tiny amount.

I know at least one, plus another who doesn't have a smart phone (and who feels forced out by this).

Not everyone drives and goes abroad.

Not so simple surely ... Will anyone know before renewal and before fixtures out whether they can make majority of games next season ??
Like I said, my job and family life allows me to do so which I appreciate, others may not.

What wrong with the exchange?

What wrong with the exchange?

Keep reading people bang on about using the exchange as if it's a magic wand but I used it 3 or 4 times and only sold once (and that wasn't the Spurs one). The game has to be sold out and then often who wants a single ticket? Due to covid, an increase in capacity, people's finances, games being switched etc I don't see many sellouts next season, imo. This is a major reason, with the extra £20 for me and £25 for any friends, I've cancelled. Very sad about it but had to be logical and accept it.

You are aware that the club has implied a solution is available and invited contact with supporter services for non-smart-phone-owning fans such as this?

.

But up until Covid hit, the above scenario was strictly forbidden under the t&c of Season Tickets ... so in reality the rule was really "If you come to the game or not, your mate will have to pay the full match day price!". We were just lucky that the club chose to turn a blind eye to some of the stupid post-Hillsborough regulations.

Because of covid, the club just cannot allow 'unknown' people into the ground so need to offer something. IMO they are also acknowledging that "ticket-sharing" will happen more for as long a covid remains a threat (albeit, hopefully, a decreasing one over the next year or two - I will still cite the fact that we have had a vaccine for measles for decades and still haven't actually eradicated it!).

There is frequently a problem when away fans are in with home supporters and so I don't think its unreasonable for the club to use MyAlbion membership as both a filter to ensure who gets the ticket is actually a BHA fan and also that attendance at games is a 'reward' for fans willing to support the club through the membership scheme.

The £25/season MyAlbion isn't exclusively for tickets, there are other benefits that, up to now have cost £25/season (not saying they are worth £25 just that this isn't an *additional* cost but a extra, free benefit to those already paying).

Yes, it would be great if I could just hand my ST card to a friend on friday and take it back on monday knowing that no-one was hurt, the club didn't lose out and the ground was full, but we can't do that any more... not because of the club but because of a nasty virus that's [still] killing people.

Get rid of the virus and everything that comes with that, and I have every faith that the club will go back to turning a blind eye to us bending/breaking the rules.

I think what the club have offered is proportionate and appropriate for the circumstances and am starting to see why PB thinks all fans want "something for nothing".

Bloody hell, Covid is your excuse for everything. Look at how many people are dying OF it now compared to other viruses. We have the vaccine remember, meaning that anyone likely to die of it will be immune, or will be very soon anyway. So, no, I don’t think these rules should be brought it because of Covid. To insinuate that someone has to be tracked and traced to attend a football match is insanely authoritarian.

How very progressive and great of the club to enforce a rule that pretty much no other club or entertainment business do, and not only that, they let us pay for it too :clap2:

If they said you had to turn up with your hand up your arse, you would do it? Wouldn’t you? Coz dem the rules.

For the record, this doesn’t really affect me as I’ve missed 1 home league game at The Amex (when given the chance) and will continue to go every game I possibly can. I just think it’s wrong.

Because it makes a last season, simple free transaction(if you can`t go let a friend go) complicated and at a cost. I appreciate the covid thing. Do you think when covid is gone we will not have to show ID and will again be able to share tickets. We have three tickets and will renew this year and will have empty seat or seats to most games !!

You shouldn’t have a ticket according to Bozza. Charming.

Just noticed Amex is a cash free stadium. Oh well if they don`t want my money so be it !! Unbelievable that !! but heh ho, much better to allow youngsters to use credit cards and spend money they haven`t got !!

Why would he feel forced out when the club said from the outset that there will be an alternative for those who don’t, or can’t, use a smartphone?

I didn’t want to spark off the debate again about the new sharing option - none of us are going to change that, so we’ll just have to swallow the regression.

Keen to know what will happen to those STHs of us who cannot go to many games each season, for whatever reasons, and will now find it even harder to pass on their seat. I fear a Barber (read Bloom) tap on the shoulder at some point to question me as to whether I really am worthy of having the ST at all...

I know of someone who wasn’t attending who had a letter on this point.

I can understand it on the basis there’s a waiting list and empty seats isnt a good look

I’m no youngster and I haven’t used cash unless I’ve really had to for years.

You really are in the dark ages if you think cashless means credit cards, too.

Amazingly, someone suggested I give him a cheque a while ago. I couldn’t stop laughing for ages!

It will be interesting to know how much it will cost to have a new season ticket card, this is for the people who don’t have a smartphone.
Personally I would be happy to have a card, I’m not keen on having loads of stuff on my phone, it’s pretty old anyway as I’m not into phones.

But they don't know what it is. You have to renew by April, but there is no information available about the non smart phone alternative until June.

PS it's a she.

Someone has mentioned on this thread that it will be a season ticket card with a photo.
