Having been through it since the beginnings, yes. I am fully aware.

I was seven years old at the time, and all that has passed. If anyone thinks the Palace match has a bit of an edge to it, all well and good. Anyone who is driven by an inherited hatred needs to grow up.

Palace are nothing more than a pantomime villain.

The rivalry is fun and has done a lot of good too. REMF etc. I actually quite like Palace because they are a proper club with local fans. I've never met a Palace supporter I didn't get on with. Lots of ribbing, no hatred.

Good for you, however whether you think they need to grow up or not, the hatred is still very much there, and will take a long time to fade if it ever does. Whilst there were many who lept to their feet today to sing "stand up if you hate palace" for a bit of a laugh, there were still those around me vociferous with their c words flung at the Palace fans, with wanker hand gestures and continual baiting of the palace fans, from our very far away safe distance. Amongst them were children, doing the same thing as their parents.

As I said and I think you missed the point, it is being passed down to fans who have no idea what it is about, so it will be around for some while yet.

The volume of police there prevented lots of trouble at a 15.00 kick off on a Saturday.
Rather than slate them (which is too easy) I'd say we'll done to them.
Had a few beers in the North concourse after and they closed the shutters where Palace were trying to get in. 😱 much
All very well organised and safe.
Well done to the club and sussex police.
No need to debate this, we have just SMASHED Palace... 😄

Not sure the rivalry is over for some of our players. They know.

I'd also say that a person has to the right to self defence. A frothy mouthed, coked up fool who goes raging at someone else has no right to complain if they get decked.

I don’t condone violence, but on this occasion I can’t get worked up about oaf v oaf. The puncher will possibly get a life ban from Albion games.

Do these people on either side ever think of things such as cameras and consequences.

It's just a bloody word ffs
Don't take it too literally
Imagine singing 'stand up if you dislike palace'

There were people blaming the police for the trouble at WBA last week as well. Sad really. A bit too desperate to deflect from the utter knobheads the police protect us from.

It’s done, it’s over, after today’s showing both on and off the pitch they are now an irrelevance !

A few spotty kids flicking the v’s at us whilst safely behind a barricade of police was the best they could do on the way in, almost silent after they went one nil down and a half empty stand an hour into the game

There’s no real passion in it anymore, and to be honest it’s more annoying to see that many coppers to kettle a gang of teenagers that couldn’t fight their way out of a soggy paper bag…….i mean they didn’t even bring any pyros this time !
Are you on crack? It will never be over.

The bizarre parallel universe where we’re told at potentially violent fixtures with history, there are either too many or too few police, and its their fault.
