What a sad lot, it will be of national mourning when our greatest leader finally falls

Fella, you are a fantastic contributor on here and love your posts but that woman was vile and contributed to the death of industry, manufacturing, community and much more in this country.,
She presided over at least 2 recessions and because of this mismanagement of the economy she was about to be ousted when a lovely convenient war came along with Argentina came and saved her skin.
BUT, I thought Blair would be the saviour of this country. And after a triumphal election and promising start, just ended up in acrimony and disappointment.
I loath thatcher but I don't wish anyone dead

One things for certain, the left will monumentally embarrass themselves when the time comes. You only have to read this thread and Twitter to realise that.

I've had my gall bladder removed. It doesn't make you able to cartwheel.

When the day finally arrives and I see you cartwheeling through Firle I'll remind you of this post

Beach Hut sobbing in the streets, HBnB waffling on about how she made him a success because he has two properties or me with a quiet and dignified glass of champagne? I think I know where the embarrassment will lie.

I am waiting for the operation too. If it can make me do a cartwheel I shall be well impressed. As for Thatcher I hope she burns in hell.

Yeah, much more embarrassing than proclaiming the need to dance in the streets or piss on someone's grave. Pathetic.

By all means disagree with her politics but have a minimum of decorum in the process

Wilson and Callgahan put us in the crapper. Thatcher dragged us out of it and put us back on our feet. Brown made a f***ing good job of putting us back in it and now Cameron is doing his best to drag us out again. Every Labour gevernment bankrupts the country. Every Tory government repairs the damage and, in the process, gets blamed for the Labour mismanagement. Labour governments don't understand that you cannot continually spend what you don't have. Oh, and Thatcher took us into one war after our territory was invaded. Blair took us into two wars by invading other countries' sovereign territory.

Blair's promising start was due to the fact that he and Brown followed the Tory spending plans for three years. Then, they sold the family jewels (gold) at the bottom of the market and spent al lthe money they had and then spent a lot more money that they didn't have. Brown's redistributionist policy was based around making the entire population poor and dependent upon the state for economic survival.

Wars aside, the difference between the two parties is that Labour fight for the rights of the lowly paid and oft exploited and the Torys are just in it to make money off the backs of anyone. Labour try to give workers rights and the Torys always try to take them away again as a way of " Cutting Red Tape " and making businesses " Grow ". In reality this means screwing as much money as possible for themselves without rewarding those who earn the money for them.

Always has been, always will be.

Mrs T is in my view the best post war Prime Minister this country has had. An intellect as sharp as a tack and more balls than Cameron, Brown and Blair put together. I had the privilege to see her in action at a meeting shortly after the Falklands campaign started (I was a humble note taker) and believe me she had an awesome presence. Arguably, our last true statesman.

The main difference is between the parties is that Labour spends what the haven't got and puts the country in greater debt then the Tories attempt to restore the country's finances. Always has been and always will be, I suspect.

Please take off blue tinted glasses. I really can't agree with any of your partisan view point, apart from the Blair part. But as the old saying goes
"I don't agree with your viewpoint but will fight for your right to say it"

What will all the 'Anti-Thatcherites' do when she does finally depart? Who will they blame next? I lost my job as it was cheaper to produce abroad. Who then shall I blame? Everyone apart from myself, as I'm obviously not part of the problem. Or am I?
