The last remaining shops in which some are cash only?

Is your favorite local take away cash only?

One chip shop near me is cash only the rest take cards as they’re on Deliveroo and Uber eats etc.

Only other cash only business I can think of is barbers, who always charge a couple of quid short of a note so you say “keep the change” and those pound coins go straight in their pocket and the taxman is none the wiser.

Mine charges a tenner (doesn’t take cards)

My takeaways all take card, but the barbers is cash only.

She was very apologetic the other day when she told me the price had gone up from £6 to £7.

Funnily enough, the year I lived in London (cough Croydon) around 2015/16 I found it was the worst place I've been for pubs not taking cards.

All the takeaways I use take card. I wouldn’t use a cash only place for food. Pretty sure most can guess why.

Swan outside bar is cash only however, but that’s because you can’t get signal out there. Indoor bars take card

Did they have to replace the broken bottle they had been using for the parts the rusty pliers couldn't reach??

Christ. My haircut is more expensive. And I cut my own hair.

Sadly, I've reached the point in life where I walk in and just ask for a number.
Ironically, I mastered asking for a haircut just as I ran out of hair for them to cut.

Any particular number? ???

Sadly I have to report No Tonsure, and salt and pepper loveliness.

I am convinced the reason is the scalp is always kept warm by all the heat generated by the extreme mental activity in the mind tank, located below. ???

3, but only that high because I'm still in denial.

I let my mirror mist up before I look at it so I don't have to confront the truth. In a similar vein the main reason I have a beard (other than not looking like I have actual alopecia after the hair cut) is to cover up how fat I'm getting.

What hair I have left around the back and sides had some lovely flecks of white that hint at the dignified grey I could have had.

Every takeaway I use takes cards. The only people I pay ( or used to pay ) in cash were Doggie Day Care in Portslade ( now in Lancing so don't use them ) and my cleaner - the East wing is a pig to clean so she's well worth the cash.

The Piggery in Broadwater doesn’t take cards. Since the cash machine opposite was removed, they do allow you to do a bank transfer if you don’t have cash.

It is one of the four things I pay cash for these days - the other three are my barber, my Football subs and when I place an on course bet at the races.

After lockdown hardly anyone pays in cash, rarely does a customer even consider paying in cash these days.
I walk out of places if they are too tight to pay 10p on card transaction of a £10 takeaway. Surely it’s like waving a red flag to be investigated by the tax man insisting on cash only.

I don't shop anywhere that is cash only. No excuse not to take card these days.
This. Combined with rapidly rising prices and daftly cramped opening hours, I'd give my local chippie about a year's survival at most. Shame really, it's been a fixture of the community for decades ☹️
