I have just had one of those 'eureka' moments in trying to finalise who I want to pick next - anyone who now picks this person is going to be very much off my Christmas card list

Picking a blinder of a player who would've surely gone earlier if he'd played more in the prem but only played 7 times for Man Utd on loan is one of swedens all time top strikers
Henrik Larsson

Hard man pick.

Slaven Bilić - he eats Giggsys for breakfast.

I like almost everything about Slaven Bilic, and then I remember the World Cup semi final...

I'd be interested to see if we can come up with a team of players who fit none of the categories. I've got a player I'd love to pick, but can't. Somebody else had one earlier as well.

Without wishing to sound rude, do you realise this draft is judging players based only on their Premier League careers?

Was a strange choice, there are at least four World class top top strikers who nobody has picked as they only played about 40 premier league games let alone 7, 3 at Chelsea and one at Liverpool for sure!!

Gazza was a risk but it's Gazza!!

But hey it's your team!!

Yes
Buts he was quality so goes into my team

Larsson was signed on loan by Manchester United from 1 January until 12 March 2007. He started just 5 Premier League games in that time and also made 2 substitiue appearances, scoring just 1 goal.

I don't think that i'd have ever have picked him for this draft based on that. Maybe being another name will help you at the end of this but again i think that there were better options but the alternatives may have been lesser known players who may not be fully recognised for their performances / achievements so again, i guess it's how the voters judge it (like with Gazza) that will be all that matters.

Wow you all got around to me quick!

With way over 70 international caps, I am delighted he's still on the board. Quickly being accepted as the face of American soccer and back in the MLS now, is a man who was and still is a legend at Fulham, his honours list, like Tim Cahill leaves alot to be desired but his worth to a team and to a nation for his influence upon the game is beyond question.

That's a cracking pick. I think there's still some real quality to be unearthed in this draft

Tough decision here. But everyone will need a centre back on the bench. Also, with my wing backs (Riise and Valencia), I could opt for a 3-5-2. Therefore, introducing a man with 45 England caps, a World Cup goal and an FA cup winners medal. More recently he has managed Chester City to the football league and faced his fears in the celebrity jungle.

I see that a few of the players that i thought would have gone a lot earlier are now starting to go at last.

I just hope my next few preferred picks from my shortlist of players are still available when it finally reaches me again

Phone rings in F.C GNLF managers office, waking him from his 87/88 season reverie.

GNLF: Hello
Caller: ...
GNLF: What's that? you've got a player lined up who's scored a premier league hat trick. Twice? Tell me more, I'm looking to fill that category.
Caller...
GNLF: What?! He's scored over 100 premier league goals? And no one's picked him yet?!
Caller...
GNLF: Get outta here! He won the premier league golden boot to boot! excuse the pun but I just can't believe there's a golden boot winning player with over 100 premier league goals left unpicked this deep into the draft! Any other strings to his magnificent bow?
Caller...
GNLF: He's an accomplished centre half as well? So he can offer attacking and defensive cover to my team? This guy sounds too good to be true!
Caller...
GNLF: You're making this up aren't you? He is also a top quality saxophonist? And he's invented his own musical instrument?! And released an album?! What a legend! Who is this man?

Good question. The answer to which is:

Dion Dublin

So the bench is all about strength in depth and tactical flexibility. With Sterling and Dublin I've got all my attacking options and cover at centre half sorted. Next is midfield. I need a player of great quality who can play either as a defensive midfielder or as a more attacking box to box midfielder. Luckily I have one of those up my sleeve. There'll be no teasing out his name, no dilly dallying or prevarication for this announcement, his quality speaks for itself. I'm talking about:

Stiliyan Petrov
