If your at the Airport, and a policeman tells you to get down, then you get down! If you fail to do so on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time of being asked, then expect to be taken down by as much force as necessary.

The police are here to protect and serve the general public. If they suspect even the slightest chance of a serious situation occurring, then I want a strong response… specially at an airport.

Closer to home. Last week, a bloke on a moped with “L plates“ decided it was acceptable to weave in and out of traffic at a junction.
He very nearly took out a chap with his dog and would have probably of killed or seriously injured them.

Why the f**k are we putting up with this sort of behaviour from the public… and why are the police so weak?

I’ll tell you why. It’s because every-time some incident occurs and the police attend, they have cameras thrust in their faces.

Every move is scrutinised, monitored and analysed…. by the “know all” public, media and the top brass in the police organisation who appear to be more concerned about career progress / stats then affirming some hard line policing.

Personally, I think phones/video evidence should be confiscated at the time or it to be a crime to release footage before informing the police… until ALL the facts are known.

Without a strong police and justice system we’re all be screwed, and I think people should remember this.

Sorry but you cannot condone the police in this instance and ANOTHER racist attack from them too.

I'm not convinced that an authoritarian police state where violence and confiscation of private owned evidence is really the way forward right now.

We should have more police and they should all be highly trained (and better paid) and any kind of violence from them should be an absolutely last resort. They should all have body cams. Nothing is wrong with the public filming them, in fact, it should be encouraged - and obviously they should never have the right to confiscate public videos, or be allowed to prevent them from filming.

And after they've taken you down, you should expect a kick in the face?

Kicking a bloke with force in the head and stamping on his head when on the floor is not really acceptable behaviour

The only thing that has changed in recent years is that things are being filmed.

The officer in this instance should arrest the man who is lying on his belly, not boot him in the head. He is now the criminal and quite rightly should be facing criminal sanction for losing his temper and kicking someone who is offering no resistance at that time (and may have already been tasered, not sure).

I'm sure there was a provocation, apparently attacking the police for which this man on the ground should face his own criminal charges. But it doesn't justify a revenge assault.

I’d also say the police have a tough and sometimes impossible job and I know a couple of coppers who are great people.

Also that a friend of ours currently has a complaint against a copper who hospitalised and nearly killed two people. The “no win no fee” they took it to accepted the case after just 30 seconds of video.

Bad apples in every barrel…..

Which is why he is now suspended.

An officer had been removed from all duties after a “thorough review of further information” of the incident, which took place on Tuesday, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

Errrm..... No.

The police might be there to protect the public, but that doesn't include kicking shit out of them.

Hmm ..so where’s the proof that it’s a racism attack ..seems some are making it that way to suit there own views

Not condoning the assault on the guy on the ground ..but how about some emphasis on the police officers attacked one of which has a broken nose ..one small clip from an incident that involved members of the public causing well it’s an understatement to say an affray …and yet the headline writers can’t be arsed to say much about that or the masked protest outside Rochdale police station last night with the usual inflammatory chants ..still that’s Rochdale and we know who they voted in as an MP in a recent by election

I agree with most of that …but the guy was already down from that clip that’s gone viral …so what force was necessary to keep the man down ..not sure the action taken is in the police manual

Have I missed something here, apologies If I have but are you saying the airport attack was racist or there's something else I've not read about?.

Whilst I appreciate the Police often get an unwarranted hard time and should get some leverage, there is no excuse for what happened in that coverage. A full on kick to the head and a stamp is enough to kill someone. There is no slack for that.

In the 1970s and 80s (and later) there were no cameras in faces and accountability. Folk had their lives ruined by thuggery, deception and corruption. So whilst some folk maybe don't respect the Police enough, they are not a law unto themselves. Which they become without accountability.

Whilst I understand, and agree with much of what you say, there was no reason for the kick or stamp on the head in last night's incident... it's all about proportionality and reasonable force, this was neither!
