Bemused looks all round down my local today, as the usual Premiership "big 4" wankfest gave way to a bar full of guys who support their LOCAL team. Every kick, tackle, shot and decision was met with HUGE howls of delight or derision, and the Albion goals saw several blokes, including me, going absolutely SPASTIC.

I was there last week for the Chelsea v Manure game, and it was like a vicars tea party. Today, it was utter BEDLAM in there. Restored my faith no end. This club is truley loved, and the plastics can go f*** themselves, because they will NEVER have enjoyed an afternoon with Sky Sports as much as we did today. Fair play to those who went, it was obviously even better and I wish I was there. But the borefest barflys who "support" the big 4, got a lesson today in what following a club really means.

 There's just not the same level of PASSION in the Prem

:wozza:.

Why's that then? So, if BHA got to the Premiership would you being saying the same? The myth of lower league fans being more passionate continues, I see.

Fair enough, I didn't word that properly. It was aimed at the high proportion of "fans" who claim to be supporters of the big teams, but don't have any enthusiasm or real love of a club. It;s down to the size of the club obviously, smaller clubs = less "plastics"

Each to their own. If somebody gets some kind of vacuous kick out of 'supporting' a team they've never seen, from a town they've never been to, then heigh-ho, why not leave them to it. Does it really matter?

what pub were you in? I was in the Engineers and it had a good turn out too and was a good laugh in there. Was like some weird timewarp to an Albion in the top league. What an afternoon for all Albion fans, especially those who took the big odds on offer

Top post. It's about supporting the team where YOU are from. I've been following the Albion for the best part of thirty years and its been an interesting journey and lets be honest, sometimes pretty shit - but today....well today.....pure joy.

Just down the Albion in Fishersgate. OK, several of the guys were mates of mine, as well as my dad, but the mentalist leaping around was infectious. And a WORLD away from the usual 4pm crew for the usual big 4 tedia-media driven gubbins.

"oooh Torres has scored....errrr.....YAY !" etc

Spot on, Easy. A big hand to all those fortunate enough to be there, you did us all proud and outsung them from the first whistle (probably before it, actually). Certainly from well before we scored, anyway, it was all Albion.

One of the best team performances I can remember, with plenty of individuals excelling within that. You can't put it all down to Gus after a couple of days, but what you can assume is that he has the total respect of the players and they finally know that half-arsed isn't good enough any more.

The only minor downers were that my Uruguay flag hadn't arrived in time to hang up in the lounge for the match. And you can't help being a tiny bit annoyed that these players have been playing so shite for months.

When that Crofts goal went in I was going mental in the lounge, and while the wife was a bit shocked my two-year-old daughter started shouting 'hurray' and dancing around the room. *Proud dad*

Top post Easy. I missed half of the first half due to the pub i was in had italian sky sports  then i went to the walk about and it was playing music, but i managed to see southampton penalty (which was sooo not a penalty) then i decided to find a decent pub for the 2nd half. I ended up sitting next to Derby fans who were enjoying the game and i was telling them all about albion :bla: this pub was also playing music, but when crofts scored i jumped out of my seat and shout really loud, one of the Derby fans also cheered when we scored and after i celebrated, ppl behind me started shoutins seagulls and Brighton, to which i gave them the thumbsup. But a magnificent scoreline and great to see the show of support, proud to be an albion fan tonight
