I always thought it would go to 7 games. That's what I love about the Stanley Cup playoffs.

LA Kings win in overtime (4-3) in Phoenix to reach the Stanley Cup Finals. Their first visit since the days of Gretsky in 1993. Kings have now won 10 consecutive away games a new playoff record. LA have also managed to knock out the teams seeded 1,2 and 3 in their conference!

Bugger ! Devils win 5-3 @ MSG making it 3-2 in the series. Still a good game - Rangers came back from 3-0 down to make it 3-3 and I thought they had a chance, but Devils then scored to go 4-3 and then 5-3 when the Rangers went "empty net". Gotta win game 6.

We just weren't good enough - good luck to the NJ Devils in the final.

As they are in the Tri-State Area I guess I'll have to support them now.......

BOLLOX!!!

Was really hoping the Rangers would be lifting the Stanley. Not making excuses but I think the number of PO games maybe caught up with them.

Believe 2013!!!!

Game 1 goes to the Kings (2-1) in overtime. That's another away game win for LA, IT'S now 9 in a row post season and 11 in a row overall I believe.

Kings win 2-1 again in game 2, again in New Jersey and again in overtime. LA become the first team to win the first 10 consecutive postseason away games in the Stanley Cup Finals. They won 3 in round one against Vancouver, two in round two against St Louis, three in round three against Phoenix and now two in the finals against New Jersey. They now lead the series 2-0 at have two games to follow at home in Los Angeles.

Well the Kings thump the Devils 4-0 in LA last night to now lead the series 3-0. That's a every round so far the Kings have led 3-0, new record in the playoffs. What made last night win so impressive was their powerkill units (5 with no goals conceeded including a minutes 5 on 3) and some amazing saves by the Kings Netminder Jonathan Quick. With another game to come at home on Wednesday the Stanley Cup could be in LA hands by Thursday morning.

LA finally lose an away game (in the playoffs) going down 2-1 at New Jersey. The Kings still lead 3-2 but have lost 2 in a row now. Next game is back in LA on Monday.

Devils looked strong in this game. it's a tough ask to turn round the 3-0 deficit, but they look capable.

Kings are going to be nervous going back home only 3-2 in front now.

What's the vote from here? Kings or devils?

Great result for the Kings, after toying with the Devil in the last two games they took New Jersey apart in game 6 winning 6-1. The Stanley Cup goes to Los Angeles for the first time, winning the series 4-2. Jonathan Quick (the LA netminder) wins the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoffs MVP. He allowed just 7 goals in 6 games and a .946 save percentage. If you save every single shot your save percentage is 1.0 so you can see how good he is. I think he faced 132 shots and only let in 7 goals.
