Mixed bag for New York teams this weekend. Giants had an incredible recovery in the 4th quarter with 3 TDs in the last seven minutes to win 41-34. Eli Manning was finally able to take a deep breath after an awful first half.

Jets got a reality check after their feel-good opener. They were thumped 27-10 by the Steelers. Sanchez was made to look like an amateur against Ben Roethlisberger. As Rex Ryan said – you’re not going to beat a QB with a 125 rating over 36 minutes of possession. Still don’t get how Teebow fits in.

A wake up call for the Skins this week. Incredibly sloppy stuff from the defence (which is meant to be the good part of the team!). Hopefully sorted out next week. Good experience for RGIII to feel seem decent pressure and maintain his composure in a scrappy game.

I watched some of the Browns/Bengals and Bucs/Giants on Gamepass and was very impressed with messrs Richardson and Martin two good looking rbi's for the future. I hate to say it but a great 4th Q by the Giants, Manning was supreme when it mattered.

And hey the Cowboys lost too so it's not all bad from my perspective.

Are The Bungles going to hang on?

Just finished watching the Patriots and Ravens. This match was billed as a rematch of last year’s AFC championship. NBC seem to have one of the most clueless commentators ever with Chris Collingsworth – he makes Warren Barton on Fox Soccer look intelligent!

One of the most amazing games I’ve seen in a while. Pats winning 30-28 with 2 seconds to go, Ravens get a field goal after a time out to take it 31-30 …marvelous scenes. The look on Brady’s face was priceless and Belichick threw a wobbly and had a go at one of the officials so he’ll be getting a fine in due course. Torrey Smith had a terrific game with 2 TDs – a fine tribute to his brother who died the day before.

I watched the 'Skins, and the first half of Denver.

Bob3 really looks the business, his penultimate drive was very impressive.
He does seem to take a lot of hits, though.

Schaub looked pretty good too.

Are The Bungles going to hang on?

The only bungles on show were on the redskins fence and sidelines. Haslett has lost it this season and Shanahan blew the last timeout with a dumb challenge. Heroic stuff from RGIII again, but he cannot do it on his own. At least Skins expectations will be suitably realigned to realistic again, I'd settle for 7-9 as an improvement this year.

More great games this week, wtf was going on in the detroit game! I shall definitely be game passing that this week.

On the college front very impressed with Oregon shutting out Arizona at the weekend.

You've got to be worried about the punishment Bob3 is taking.

I thought there was going to be an imprint of him in the ground after one massive hit.

He got absolutely hammered by an impressive Bengals D. I like the way Griffin is not afraid of taking a hit, but he really needs protection or he will miss games this season.

Not an excuse but the refs were the worst I have seen this season, no idea about what to do with the clock, a missed pass interference call on Hankerson which indirectly lead to a Bengals TD drive and a BS face mask call on D-Hall. The NFL have to sort this out pretty soon.

That is until last night.

We was robbed and robbed badly.
But that was the worst reffing of the season!

The sports pages of the local paper are really laying into the NFL officials lock out and the quality of the replacement officials. The Seahawks / Packers game on Monday night primetime TV was another example. Things came to an alltime low with a disputed Hail Mary TD pass on the final play. One of the guys at work is a Packers fan and was still spitting blood this morning. This is on top of Belichick grabbing one official Sunday night after the Pats losing in the dying seconds. NFL commissioner Goodell is meeting this lunchtime to try and hammer out a deal, even if he gets one next weekend is still likely to have replacement officials. The first 3 weeks has been a shambles.

Your not wrong.

The NFL seemed to put everything into the first game of the season, and hope the rest will be ok.

Some of the 'simple' rulings are so far wrong, and costing points.
Not to mention the amount of first downs being awarded.

That Packers call was truly shocking, unless the benefit of the doubt goes with the attacking team!
It was a obviously wrong in real time.

To be fair as a Seahawk fan I have to admit that the last call was seriously wrong (mainly for the OPI on Tate) - however there were a LOT of bad calls in the game against both sides (DPI against Chancellor was ridiculous and handed GB great field position on their only TD drive) so it works both ways...

The most annoying thing is that people should be talking about an absolutely brilliant 1st half defensive performance by us, then how well GB made adjustments in the 2nd to make it a ball game and not the officials.

And those saying it makes up for the blown calls against the Steelers in Superbowl XL - do me a favour...

I've only seen the highlights of the game, so can't really comment.

But pretty much all the games I have watched the calling has been pretty bad, but worryingly seems to be getting worse.

The Umps have the Goodell by the dangles, if I were them I'd be now asking for the moon (not Warren).

How long have the Seahawks been wearing those hideous 'hi viz' green and dark navy colours? With the chevrons down the legs it looks like a training kit...and they've taken the 'Seahawk' logos off of the shoulders. I appreciate that this is the league that gave us the Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens etc. and messes with locations and identities quicker than you can say 'MK Dons or Cardiff City playing in red' but preserve some traditions please.

I actually love the new uniforms! Really want to try to get hold of one but they are stupidly expensive!

Now shoot me down here and I may have rose tinted specs, but I've read a LOT about this call and seen many angles.

The thing is Tate has 2 hands on the ball and 2 feet on the ground before Jennings has either foot on the ground - it still doesn't look like he has control, but by the laws he has possession first because of his feet.

Now we all know Jennings caught it, and in an ideal world it should be an INT but I can kinda see why it isn't now...

Full marks to Tate for being aggressive on the play to make it questionable, and some of the hate he is getting (and the Seahawks in general) is bordering on ridiculous - they didn't make the call, they did what they had to do to win.
