The quiet bit at the beginning was because Tony Bloom hasn't got a clue how to talk into a microphone.

At the end, someone was going round the room, complaining that no-one had asked any awkward questions - and that was one of the directors.
I don't think there are any to ask - at the moment. It's not like last year when large parts of the fanbase were seriously concerned about the Wilkins-out-Adams-in move, Falmer funding and the general direction the club was going in under Knight. Most of that is all ancient history now. I suppose people could have grilled Bloom a bit more about his finances and what the club had meant by 'guaranteed funding' for the stadium - but at the end of the day we can see it's being built, the Buckingham Group are obviously being paid, so who cares?

It does feel very much like the dawn of a new era both on and off the pitch and I think everyone's just basking in the rosy glow. Let's enjoy it while it lasts - and I sincerely hope next year's forum is as innocuous as this year's.

I guess I'm a bad fan for not knowing the answer to this but who's the white-haired geezer to RS's right? And who's the bloke chairing the session?

White haired guy is Ken Brown, Marketing Director. The middle guy is Johnny Cantor from BBC Sussex. :)

Thanks for that. Did he actually answer any questions or was he there just in case there was a question about sporks?

If it wasn't for Dick Knight there wouldn't be a club for Tony Bloom to have put money into. I am sure you will come up with some rubbish like someone else would have saved the club, but there was never exactly a queue forming to invest in the Albion in 1997. Whether you like it or not, Dick Knight saved this club and the lack of thanks he gets from some of the 'so called fans' is pathetic. Tony Bloom is the future but only because Knight saved the club and kept it going for years.

Nothing more could possibly be added here. Absolutly 100% right answer, anyone who doubts DK's input is just a bit of a dickhead IMHO.

A question was asked about how the Club could make it EASIER for fans to buy away tickets - for example, by removing the requirement for the ticket-holder always to pay to join the Away Membership scheme, even if all that was wanted was a one-off ticket for a mate, who won't become a regular Albion supporter because he lives near the away stadium, not in Brighton.

Ken Brown seemed not to understand the question. He responded by talking about the Club thinking about more ways to provide incentives. The question was about one-off purchases, not about "loyalty points" or anything related.

I wasn't impressed.

Agreed 100%. I've given up trying to debate with the lame and the loony though.

Just remember that every village has an idiot, and that some of them have now been given keyboards, and for reasons I don't quite fathom they tend to post their nonsense on NSC.

I think that you are looking at things through rose tinted glasses.

Yes, Dick Knight did take the Club over and ensure it survived. Let us not forget that he took control based upon the popular support of the fans, which was to a large extent based upon some false promises. What ever happened to the "£2m of ring fenced money for players"?

Following his takeover, and with the support of others (who by all accounts paid most of the money), the Club was able to progress on the pitch (at first), and obtain planning permission for Falmer.

However, the early success on the pitch had long faded into a struggle - and nearly relegation to the bottom division where he started, until Tony Bloom's money saved us last year. Falmer, as has been admitted by Dick Knight, would not have been able to proceed without Tony Bloom's intervention, and without Falmer, the Club was doomed.

I think it would be fair to say that Dick Knight was the savour of our Club, with the financial support of others like Fat Boy Slim, but only because Tony Bloom bailed him out at the critical point before everything went tits-up!

No matter what any of us think of Dick Knight and regardless of how the club/team has been funded since he became chairman-it is undeniable that he has been responsible for us having a club to moan about. We have a stadium going up thanks to his vision and tenacity. The tenacity is probably the most important thing because many would have buckled under the pressure of the PI's and delays. OK, so in the end he couldn't get the money in the way he had planned but the money was there when it was needed. The Law of Attraction at work-DK and the Board believed that the stadium would be built and it is happening-Thanks now to Tony Bloom. I firmly believe that without DK there'd have been no need for Tony Bloom's money because there'd be no club for him to bail out.
