Rolland looks like he's struggling now. Why doesn't he drop back to the lead group and get some rest then try to sprint out just for the remaining KOM points? He'll do well to hold out for the stage win I think.

He's all about the KoM. Don't think a stage win is even in his sights.
His problem is that Nieve has been sitting back in the chasing group and should be far fresher for the final cat 1 mountain.
Nieve could be in the Polka dot tonight.

Not so sure. Nieve didn't bother with the last set of KOM points and amazingly Rolland's gap to the chase group is actually growing! Stage win the target for Nieve but not likely to have much chance now in KOM. Rolland can take KOM tonight and in so doing might just hang on for the stage win. I'd love to see another heroic solo French breakaway win again today personally.
Edit: Nieve did take 2nd place on that cat 1, but I was talking about the cat 2 before it.

Nieve's only 5 points behind Rolland, If he gets past him on the next climb he's into the Polka dot lead.
I'd love for Rolland to hang on at least until the top of the next climb. He's earnt the Polka for at least a day.

Nieve lost all his team mates now though. Will be very interesting last climb.
GC wise, looks like a thunderstorm is brewing so we could see some good final descent action there too along with the inevitable attacks going up.

10 points seperates 5 riders in the KoM.
It's been the only jersey that's been a true contest. Looks like it'll either go to Froome or Quintana now.

Yep, another good polka dot battle just like last year.
If Rolland & Nieve really want it then that break has to make it to the finish tomorrow or else it'll go to Froome or Quintana with double bubble points on the HC climb.
No living with Rui Costa on that final climb. Very strong off the back of his Tour de Suisse win.

I guess that's yet another example of the organisers going for just one more big day.
It happens on most Grand Tours, but in exactly surprising after yesterdays shoot out.
Although I do have faith in tomorrows 125km blast, Quinny and Roddy's last chance.

If he hadn't had to go back for Valverde that time then he'd probably be right up there on GC now and still in your team. As it is it's stage wins for him now and that's mission accomplished. Thought he'd put in better TT times but to be honest I can't remember if that first TT came before or after the Valverde disaster.
