Good post-match interview by Hughton. Open, honest......and sounds enthusiastic.

and he gets twice as much in as he speaks faster:O

I still think we need to improve in certain areas but not the massive overhaul some posters were/are suggesting.

I'd be happy with a couple of top quality gamechanging signings - one in centre midfield, one up front.

The truth is our squad is stuffed with squad players who can play some part in a well managed team - we dont need any more of them if that's all the board will give us.

Listening to his interview I think he has pressure on him from his family not settling down here, and that makes life tougher. It may well be that even if we do really want to keep him family issues may well lead to him wanting away.

By some fluke I saw his wife and kid at a kids party my boy went to a few weeks ago. Had put his kid in one of the medium level public schools here, must be a real wrench to keep shifting his family about.

...and it sounded very much like Hughton saw what was happening and made pointed changes to counter it that actually worked. I don't remember that happening this season.
Two games and we have made changes that have affected the result. Once by Jones and once by Hughton. That is where we have been poor. we now have two guys who can make changes depending on how the games going. Unfortunately, Jones it would appear, was unable to put that input in to Hyypia. A lot happier now that we can turn our home form round and that will be crucial in moving up the table.

Problem under Sami was when we went a goal ahead we shut up shop and an equalizer seemed almost inevitable, also our defensive tactics seemed very odd, especially at the start of the season (fullbacks pushing miles forward leaving the CBs dreadfully exposed).
Can't disagree with that.

Sorry but even if this is correct my response is: Tough, you knew where you were moving to when you signed for us and so did your family. Unless he went home and told his family "pack up we're off to Brighton" without any discussion, then they all have to support the breadwinner.

Sorry what? I did not say anything about feeling sorry for him, I said it came across that there may be difficulties with home life settling. Of course he knew where he was moving but there are thousands of people who have moved town/home for work needs only to find when they get to the new area it doesn't work well for them and theirs.

Can understand how he is feeling. He actually looked quite emotional in the interview. Very difficult for non-work life if the work for whatever reason turns bad, as it clearly did for him under Sami. Bound to be very unsettling, not knowing whether he was going to be in Brighton or Sheffield from one day to the next. Hope he cements a first team/match day squad place quickly, then he and his family can have some certainty on their immediate future and get properly settled.

How many times does TB have to say a cup run does not make any difference to the transfer budget.
Before I understand it? A couple of dozen, at least.
