I wonder if Kuenssburg will cry when Rishi does his farewell speech before calling a by-election and ****ing off to LA?

She is going for Labour in a very aggressive way on the BBC at the moment. They’ve just won a landslide FFS. Perhaps give them a day off before implying they have no chance of fixing the Country.
I had to turn over from the bbc because of her salivating over slating Labour all the time. Championing reform at every chance. Mocking Lib Dems. It was all a bit strange.

I think Sky and channel 4 had the best coverage. I kept having to switch from itv when Peston started - his style REALLY winds me up.

Beyond the worrying rise of Reform, the starkest and least commented upon stats from this election is the turnout. Looking like the lowest ever and, if not, down to 2001 levels. Strongest explanation is Tory voters not turning out, but Labour's failure to inspire might be another.
Maybe the foregone conclusion played a part? Do we know the spread of % turnout? Is it higher in seats where there was, in theory, a battle and lower in those where there wasn't?

It’s the media age we live in. Rigby, Coates and Burley will spend the next 5 years combing for Labour division, failures, double standards. They’ll royally p off Labour supporters. They’ll be viewed as bias. Alastair Campbell (Malcolm Tucker) was the last spin doctor who had long term success in controlling the media, he had few limits, once punching Labour supporting Guardian writer Michael White.

I get that it takes a while to get all the votes in from the Highlands and Islands, but WTF is going on in South Basildon and East Thurrock?

There is a chance that Reform will pick up a fifth MP following the recount in South Basildon and East Thurrock

How come there are parts of urban West Midlands which are so staunchly Conservative? Places like Solihull and Sutton Coldfield will always go blue.

This is a dynamic you dont see in even the leafiest parts of Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds or Glasgow.
An ex GF of mine was from Sutton Coldfield. Very easy for me to understand how they will always be blue. I'll say no more. Something about complete absence of social awareness but oodles of naivety, garnished with casual racism.

It's quite sad that you would seem to have wanted another 4 or 5 years of despair, lies and stagnation. Oh, and the rain is excellent for my allotment.

I've been to Solihull for work (never been to Sutton Coldfield).

Actually quite nice and suburban, town centre that feels like it's own place rather than part of Birmingham. Doesn't surprise me at all that it normally votes Conservative. It did go Lib Dem briefly in 2005.
