As an A'Level teacher (left it behind now) I can say A'Levels are certainly not easier now than when I took them etc. The differences are ....

a) Coursework, although it is thorough and needs to be worked on, it is not the same as doing an exam and the pressures that go with that. This is fairer in my opinion as it gives the student an opportunity to show what they can do, as they would in work, but it is open to and has been abused by a lot of students.

b) A shift in emphasis to move A'Levels and GCSEs closer in style and not have a huge gap in standard, they require slightly less fact and slightly more reasoned arguement in many subjects.

All A levels do is get you into Uni that is all worth shit all in the world of work, Not one thing I learnt in my A levels do I use today and all I cared about was getting enough grades to get to uni so I could get wasted for four more years.


What I am trying to say is don't worry if you have f***ed them up I f***ed mine up blagge dinto uni f***ed about through uni and now earn load sof money fixing computer systems.

i got SHIT grades but it was exactly enough points to get me into southampton uni for my journalism course!!!!!

i have prved the educational system wrong once more by appaling attendances, appaling results, yet still going up in the world

and i can now visit southampton fc and BOO them with ease
