He wasn't being used very effectively anyway, in my opinion. Joe Benn finally gave up after yet another injury and retired from football, so we're left with George Gaskin ploughing a lone furrow up front. And he's as like to commit ABH as he is to score a goal. Not all is well behind the scenes, I hear that the manager stormed off imediately after Saturday's defeat to a distinctly average 10-man East Grinstead.
I did watch Littlehampton a few times early season and didn't think they were too bad tbh, it did seem like Gaskin was a bit of a walking red card however.

. I do wonder if they might be better off in the County League until such time that they manage to persuade the cricket club to collaborate with them and get a 4G pitch installed.
Yes they're operating a bit with one arm tied behind their back really all the time that they can't make full use of the facilities. The site is absolutely massive and must be so underused for most of the year.

2-1 Victory for the Hawks in the end, Young Harry Bridle on loan from Gillingham with two goals, comes from a big Brighton supporting family as well! A late consolation from Lewes made it a bit squeaky at the end, but the 3 points and local bragging rights head to East Brighton!

Just checked my notes and realised he had a two-month trial with Albion U-16s back in the 2021-22 season (he also trialed with Portsmouth and Sutton United).

Do you know if he is related to Nicky Bridle who commenced his YTS with Albion back in 2000?

Peacehaven are expected to play a home match on the 8th Feb. I’m not involved with the club now so this is what I’ve heard from the bloke in the pub. The photos on Boastbook look fantastic though, new 3G/4G/whatever pitch, new surrounds, tarmaced standing areas, pile of junk moved from the corner, bloo loo in the bogs.
Might even pop down myself

Very scrappy first half, this is a heat map of the ball from the first half....

Good to see a decent sized crowd there last night and a bit of a novelty to have a enough away fans so there was singing at both ends of the pitch at the same time.

If you fancy a Peacehaven/Albion double header on the 8th, let us know.

Huge match tonight for Worthing FC as they take on Boreham Wood at home. Boreham top with 52 points. Worthing fourth with, you guessed it, 52 points.

Worthing have recovered brilliantly from quite an indifferent start. Seem to be playing with cohesion now and despite losing the absolute goal monster Ollie Pearce in the summer are still banging in the goals, in part thanks to the superb Mo Faal

Could this be the year ?

I had Torquay to take the title comfortably but as it turns out could be one of a number teams.
Worthing play Rochdale on Saturday also at home. All I can think of when someone mentions Rochdale is that very wet night at The Withdean which now seems an age ago.

Or Bellotti hiding inside the main stand at Spotland after an evening game in 1996. The team coach having first left without him in an attempt to shake off and fool those outside who wished to lynch him. It didn't work. A steward telling those outside, 'Your mates still inside and shitting himself.' Jimmy Case also stayed back for some reason, eventually coming out to 'reason' with the fans.

Awful game, lost 3-0 with Ashley Neal sealing his place as a shoo in whenever anyone is asked to pick their worst ever Albion XI.

If Albion beat Whitehawk then the Sussex Senior Cup semi-final against Horsham will be at Culver Road on March 11 (no idea when Albion will play Whitehawk though):-
