6 of us had a beach hut yesterday at Lewes...Horsham different gravy tbh, easy 2-0 win

Not bad value for £20 each and was nice and warm all match...

Hopefully not becoming 'prawn sandwich' probably more sardines on toast :)

Not in Whitechapel
So the state of play for our sides is thus:

National League South:
Both Worthing and Eastbourne Borough firmly in play off contention. With games in hand Worthing are in a good position and Borough are much improved on last year

Isthmian Premier:
Horsham doing brilliantly and are in the play off mix. Chichester City aren't far behind them having been promoted last season. Lewes are down in 13th and it's bad news for our sides down the bottom...Whitehawk are sitting perilously above the relegation trap door- places that have been occupied by Bognor Regis Town and Hastings United for much of the season

Isthmian South East:
Burgess Hill are looking good in 4th and will hope to be in the play off mix. Eastbourne Town, Broadbridge Heath, Three Bridges and East Grinstead occupy places 12th-15th between them. Lancing, Littlehampton and Steyning are all in a relegation dog fight with Steyning currently occupying bottom spot

SCFL Premier:
Hassocks are the runaway leaders, capitalizing on Haywards Heath's capitulation. They currently have an 8 point lead at the top with the surprise package- newly promoted Roffey looking like their main threat unless Haywards Heath get their act together. At the bottom Little Common and Saltdean occupy the bottom 2 slots with just 12 & 13 points to their name respectively

SCFL 1:
Bit of a humdinger at the top with Forest Row and Seaford trading blows. Just 3 points separate them and they have a healthy 8 point lead over the chasing pack. At the bottom the lowest Sussex side are Montpelier Villa who are second bottom with just 11 points to their name

SCFL 2:
Rustington and Jarvis Brook have been the top 2 all season with my old pals Southwater snapping at their heels. By my reckoning the only side in title contention who could actually achieve promotion are Hailsham who currently sit in 4th place. At the bottom Brighton Electricity, Bosham and Upper Beeding are all having poor seasons with just 6, 7 and 10 points to their names.

Eastbourne v Worthing over Easter could be an absolute humdinger. Good chance it’ll help decide who’s at home in the play-offs if nothing else.

Bad news for our teams down the Bottom? Whitehawk have collected 15 points in their last 8.
Pulling away from the relegation zone then hopefully

You're correct that has humdinger written all over it

I get why they have the semis at Lancing but I do wish they'd reconsider. These days the teams that tend to make the semis are quite well supported and it's not a ground that can really accommodate that

Was absolutely rammed for Horsham vs Steyning last year

Whoever draws Littlehampton will effectively have a bye. Absolutely terrible at the moment, can barely scrape a team together.
I'm really quite surprised by the fall of Littlehampton in recent times.

I think it's just the unrelenting financial uphill battle they face just to stay in the division. Most teams have a far higher budget with their own clubhouse and facilities to profit from, for a start. The aim was to consolidate this season and they made a couple of 'statement' signings in Alex Laing and Rob O'toole, both of whom disappeared with a few months of being here. They've had a load of injuries and disciplinary problems; I doubt they've fielded the same side twice in a row. That said, they've not been stuffed too many times and have lost multiple games by the odd goal. I went to see then against league leaders Ramsgate last week and they came whithin a whisker of nicking a draw at the death. I do wonder if they might be better off in the County League until such time that they manage to persuade the cricket club to collaborate with them and get a 4G pitch installed.

Thanks. I wondered what it was. It would be a shame if they dropped.

Yeah sorry about nicking Rob O'Toole back off you.

He wasn't being used very effectively anyway, in my opinion. Joe Benn finally gave up after yet another injury and retired from football, so we're left with George Gaskin ploughing a lone furrow up front. And he's as like to commit ABH as he is to score a goal. Not all is well behind the scenes, I hear that the manager stormed off imediately after Saturday's defeat to a distinctly average 10-man East Grinstead.
