Hopefully a good crowd and game up at the Dripping Pan tomorrow. I’ll be at Uckfield Town at 11 to hopefully tick off the ground and complete the league. Whitehawk with nothing really to play for and the same for Lewes. Hoping to go head to head with a few regular contributors of this thread, and maybe a cheeky little scrap 😂.

I went to Uckfield for an evening match and was 1/2 hour late because I couldn’t find it  I could see the floodlights but couldn’t find the entrance, I was driving and just couldn’t see it.
It’s down the side of the curry house, but will probably be obvious in daylight
Looks like the ground is a fair hike from the station.

The Avenue then Maloncho
Peacehaven lost 1-0 away at Newhaven in what a Sky Sports quiz once described as the A259 derby (nothing to do with yours truly doctoring the non league rivalries Wiki page!) The Dockers grabbing a winner against the run of play in the 147th minute.

This prompted @BN9 BHA to give me a verbal reminder as he drove past me on Fort Rd. The steam coming out of my ears caused me to give him about six different insults in one go making me sound to the untrained ear like some kind of pissed up gibbering wreck.

Anyhoo, the picture was taken in the Newhaven bar so it’s THEIR words not mine!

Hither and Thither
Funny old game at Shoreham. A win is a win and all that …… but Steyning dominated and Shoreham somehow had the better chances.

After a leg-breaker of a challenge from the Shoreham No 4 a red card and two sinbin cards were issued so Shoreham went down to 8 men for 10 minutes.

During which the ball went out of play off a Shoreham player and when the ref gave a Shoreham throw a chap in the crowd shouted “that went off an effing Shoreham leg” (or similar) and the ref sinbinned the Steyning No 11 ……. Classic.

Uckfield 0-6 Crowborough

Was as convincing as it sounds. Could have easily been double figures to be fair.

Pitch down one side wasn’t fit for growing cabbages let alone playing football on.

@jackalbion was there dressed like an upside down traffic light.
I’ve just left the upside down traffic light in the Royal Oak.

1-1 at the Pan in a game that I’ll remember for the rest of my days as being the only one where I spent an entire half of football in a beer queue. A bumper crowd and misfiring card machines brought service to a standstill. I’ll never complain about the WSU again.

Cracking second half for both keepers who each made an incredible reflex save to keep out certain goals. A deflected opener for the Hawks cancelled out somehow by Lewes (it was at the other end and I had the sun in my eyes).

Pyro, songs and a great laugh with some top people. Much better than munching Easter eggs in front of The Championship.

After a nothing first 50 a pretty good game broke out in the end.

Equaliser was a twisty skill from our sub Kalvin and tapped in finish from MoTM Sablier.

Great to see a big crowd , but a bit pissed off I couldn't stroll in at 2.55 and grab a pint before kick off as I normally do

I definitely picked the right half to spend in the beer queue. Having started the day as a neutral I ended up in the Whitehawk “end” for the second half.

Was nice to cast off the Premier League corporate uniform and see some “real” football. I can imagine Lewes is a great day out with a slightly smaller crowd. Whitehawk, meanwhile seem a real community club with a special bond between fans, players and admins.

The sort of day when I’m glad I no longer drink. I went with 2 sons and one disappeared for ages to buy their beers, it looked chaotic at the bars.
Nothing much to add to your match report, I definitely enjoyed the second half.

Leek
Leek Town win promotion to the Northern Premier League winning away 2-1 i in front of 737 at Newcastle Town, The Blues are currently 17 points clear of second place Prescott Cables both sides having four games to play. Depending on results in The NPL between now and the of season Town could find themselves up against the likes of FC United, Macclesfield FC who's last home game drew a 4,400 crowd to their Moss Rose home and even a possible trip to north Yorkshire coast and Whitby.

I was behind the goal with the Whitehawk fans in the first half, my son’s friend said Maisie Adam the comedian was standing with them, definitely looked like her and I know she lives in Brighton and likes football.

Hassocks
Haywards Heath vs Hassocks
Haywards Heath completed the double over Hassocks and in fairness have been the better side in both games, helped today by one of the softest penalties I’ve ever seen given to make it 2 nil and kill the game off. Can see Heath sneaking in the play offs at Hassocks expense as well now.
