I think she is ok. But it will be Milliband (senior) won't it ?
Charismatic, photogenic David Miliband.
A poor mans Phil Cool.
Yeah, good old David Miliband, a true blue Labour man.
The progeny of wealthy uber-Marxist parents who like the idea of social equality but still had enough influence with their socialist mates to get their dunce of a son got into Oxford following his disappointing A-level results (3 Bs and a D).
With an acceptance bar set so low I don't quite get this blather about integrity of the academic tradition we are lead to believe exists within Oxford.
On a recent visit to Warsaw David announced that he was proud of his Polish blood (quite what that is given that part of Europe's history I dont know). Its a shame then that no one has asked him how he feels about his Grandfather then given that he fought against Polish forces with the Red Army in the twenties.
Still apparently he is no more of a dunce than the 2nd Viscount Stansgate and he went to Oxford too.
Dont get me wrong Cameron et al were there too, probably through nods and winks, but then they dont harp on about social injustice like Labour........wankers the lot of 'em.
What are you on about? Ralph Miliband was scarcely wealthy, he came to Britain as a refugee and worked as a university lecturer - not a profession renowned for its lavish pay. I don't know about "uber(sic)-Marxist, whatever that is. He was certainly a Marxist - and wrote some very boring books on the subject which were on my uni reading list - but I don't see the relevance of that to his sons.
And A Levels grades have little to do with getting into Oxford. I had a girlfriend who was Oxford-educated but had far lower grades than DM obtained. There's an Oxford entrance exam, pass it and you're in, regardless of your A Levels.
I'm not saying that DM is some kind of political colossus but he's scarcely a dunce and he's certainly not from some kind of privileged background.
Well that's the trouble with the new socialists they dont know what poor is do they?
You're right Adolf was a refugee and in fairness he did a 3 year stint with the RN during the war. Unlike Jack Straw's old man who spent it hiding under the stairs.
But then he wasn't much of a 'worker' was he? Unless you think being a student then lecturer at the LSE is hard graft, and I doubt he was on minimum wage there or whilst swanning around North American Universities receiving honorary awards and roles (i.e. Boston, Chicago, Bradeis and New York) in the 70s' and 80s'.
Plenty of pals in the know too eh, so it was hardly a normal upbringing for David and Edward when politicans are popping round your house every 5 minutes for a cup of tea and a biscuit?
Yeah right and of course all of those contacts had absolutely no bearing on his f***wit sons getting into Oxford. I bet you genuinely believe that too eh?
So having been given this lift up by his old man's contacts David left uni and has never worked a day since having concentrated on making his way in the political world.......just like Cameron in fact.
But there's more as somehow David secures the rock solid labour constituency of South Shields........like he knows what life is like there? But I suppose when hard core working class fellas like Shaun Woodward are getting constituencies like St Helens it says a lot about the Labour elite's view on giving their core support MPs they can connect with.
Not priviliged, try saying that without laughing!
