It seems that for every chant we presently use someone has a negative opinion,anyone thinks that might be the reason we find it hard to get new and original songs going?
Most football songs are naff when you put them under the microscope, that's what they are.

Matter of taste in the end. I personally find the pseudo-hardman sentiments when singing 'go get your father's gun' absolutely vile.

But always used to find 'You're going to get your f***ing heads kicked in' and 'You're going home in a Sussex ambulance' hilarious in the north stand aged 12...

So I'm not sure what I object to. At least the GG favourites had an air of genuine menace, or if not a lashing or two of irony... 'Go get your fathers gun and shoot the palace scum' just makes me imagine all the school bullies in the crowd really f***ing going for it with the shining light of moronic ignorance streaming from their stupid f***ing faces as they think they are being both hard and clever. It tries to be hard, tries too much and sounds f***ing pathetic to my ears. I imagine it sounds f***ing great to the extremely stupid and the extremely stupid JNR edition however.
