Met a few as I used to run a pub in notting hill a few years ago . Hoseing down the pavement outside the pub one morning by mistake I sprayed this woman with water . Was really apologetic and went up to her to ask if she was ok . She basically couldn't stop laughing about it and was really nice . It was Helena Christenson. A regular in the pub was terry donovan , Jason donovan s dad who was in neighbours too . He was very open and very funny . He got pissed once and told me what a cvnt his son was .another time he came in so I asked how he was he said great thanks Dan I've just had the best wank ever .

Served peter o toole once too who ordered a treble scotch at 11 in the morning made me drink one . He was going to a wedding and he said ' dear boy the people at this wedding are insufferable cocks ' then said tally Ho and walked out !

Met Ian Botham and asked him how he trained for his leaukaemia fund raising walks, He replied he walked.... Have also met Phil the Greek.

i asked him if he thought alan wells was good enough to play for england?

he basically said, no

My wife and I went out to a local pub with Emlyn Hughes, our mate was with us so just the 4 of us went out to this little back street pub, sat with him chatting all evening then back to the hotel (my mate owned the hotel) and drank till the early hours, really nice guy as it goes.

What was nice, and impressive, he came back to Cwmbran (where we first lived when we moved to Wales) a couple of years later, stayed at the same hotel (which was our local in those days) and after he had checked in came into the bar and came up to me and remembered me and my wife by our names, considering he was a very busy top class international footballer who must have met many many people in his travels, to remember who we were was impressive.
Yep. A lovely man. Roz and I found ourselves staying in the same hotel as him in Newcastle, where he was hosting a Golf Day. He was happy to chat in the bar for as long as people wanted, and have Roz take his photo with anyone who wanted a souvenir of the occasion.

I had a brief chat with Jason Leonard and thanked him for winning the world cup, albeit 7 years after he did. Calves the size of Eritrea and a handshake that could squeeze water out of a stone. A beast of a man.

Honourable mention to Princess Anne, but that didn't involve any dialogue. I'm not sure a wave counts as meeting someone.

he stayed at the grand, left 10 grand cash for the staff 88ish

I was working there when he stayed. Served him tea from room service in the presidential suite. One of his entourage asked me if I wanted to go back to Jordan and work for him

I'm presuming you worked there at the time too? You're not Adam are you? Only Albion fan I knew when I worked there.

I dated one of Roger Dean's sisters back in the late 70's when he was like a rock god, designing the album covers of 'Yes' and 'Osibisa' etc, I was at art college so it was like meeting the King, he lived in Brighton back then and I now live less than a mile form his former house.

"You're Bill Gilesh aren't you?"

Glare. "No I'm Billl BRUCE!!"
