Factory Floor (Coalition, 17 May) and Tuneyards (Concorde, 26 June) announced recently.
Who's going to see Polar Bear on Wed?
Has anyone been to The Verdict as yet? I'm considering going to see the Ivo Neame quintet, and that decision may be swayed by any feedback on the venue.

Tune Yards at the Freebutt in '08 or '09 was one of best gigs I've ever been too, was anyone else there? She was very good at The Haunt last time round, I will definitely catch her at the Concorde. Factory Floor are outstanding live as well, they haven't played Brighton for a long time. Coalition is by my reckoning the loudest venue in Brighton as well so should be a perfect match

I considered going to see Polar Bear but didn't. They are supposed to be excellent live.

Not been to the Verdict myself but I do drink with some jazz types in my local and they are fairly disparaging of the place.

Listening to this weeks show whilst getting ready for football. A particularly strong start with the first two tracks really hitting the mark. All bodes well for a win later on I think.

I would have staked a rather large sum of money on you liking The Ex. I'm having a bit of an obsession with them at the moment, they'll be kicking off this week's show as well.

We won't talk about the other thing, eh?

Best not. Think I was being far too optimistic.
I saw Polar Bear at The Great Escape two or three years ago- mainly because the mate I was with wanted to see them. Not my kind of thing to be honest and didn't seen them to the end. As for The Ex- definitely need to find out more about them.

Just got in from work so will check the latest announcement out.

Good to see another Ex track in this weeks show and some Abi Wade who I saw two Great Escapes ago and thoroughly enjoyed.

Off to shoot Stiff Little Fingers tomorrow night. Nostalgia meets weight-watchers. And beer.

I see the Albion vs Yeovil game has moved meaning it's no longer last home game of the season followed by Sleaford Mods.

Probably good news for my liver.

Gives me an excuse to post this

Good choice but clearly not for the radio show.
As for the change of date for football well that's sad as I was looking forward to making a bit of a day of it. Won't prevent me from enjoying though.

All set for Interpol tonight, got on the train and thought I would check out recent setlists. It was then to my horror I discovered the Brixton gig was last night! I was at just past Preston park at the time, but had to travel to East Croydon and then turn straight back.

I think I've done something similar once before but for a Brighton gig, never halfway to London.

I'm fairly cheesed off! The only saving grace I didn't get to Brixton.

I thought about going anyway and watching Metronomy but as I'm not drinking at the moment in preparation for the marathon next week I just got straight on the Brighton train at east Croydon.
