So, I'm weighing up whether to see Radiohead at a festival. Really want to see them, but worry that seeing them play away from their home crowd will be a bad experience. I worry that their more subtle moments will be ruined by goons chatting and stuff.

Radiohead have produced one of the best shows I've ever seen (which made the whole V experience bearable)

And one of the most disappointing. The sound was quiet and terrible and the setlist as you can see below was really weird. Everytime they started to pick up momentum, they sucked the life out of the show. My now wife and I dealt with the pain of this by drinking pints of wine and having a massive row on the way home.

Which was made even worse when they did this the following night

I've still not forgiven them.

I could kiss you for The Necks tip. I was totally unaware. You've made my day.

The Necks played the De La Warr about 6 years ago actually. Me and about 30 other loyal, hardy souls attended.

Loved seeing them (twice) at the Brighton Pavilion a good few years ago now. At one of the gigs they were berated by an elderly man during the interval who thought he was there to see a jazz piano trio. Bill Evans the Necks are not!

Looks like I may have made the right decision to swerve Savages and go along to Ezra Furman. Though it was really down to my girlfriend. Anyway- not seen him before and thoroughly entertaining. Tracks from the most recent album given an edge to them live- less pop and more punk. And getting on for two hours on stage it was pretty decent value. Thinking of getting tickets for his Roundhouse date in October.

Enjoyed this post. Haven't seen them for about 20 years when, if memory serves me right, they were playing OK Computer (it was in a big venue in London: Earls Court? Wembley Arena?). I'm very keen to see them again and their Primevera headlining, alongside HT's Berlin date, promises some UK dates. Not so sure I'll be swift enough to get tickets though.

So The Boss' UK dates clash directly with Primavera. Bugger. Think I would probably have picked a weekend in Barcelona over an evening at The Ricoh, on balance, though! Hope so,e others are able to go.

First day of the TST 2-dayer at Green Door Store was amazing.

Sweet Williams, Sex Swing and Fish Police the highlights.

TST Day 2 not quite a brilliant as Day 1 but still some great performances, most notably from Projections which was Stephen from Blood Red Shoes, pre-BRS outfit. It was lovely to hear them again.

There were a few of us that thought Sweet Williams were the band of the weekend. They made such a glorious noise on the Saturday night; they are fronted by Tom House, formerly of Charlottefield, if anyone remembers them.

Great show by Tortoise at the village underground last night. 90 plus minute set with understandably a strong sprinkling of tracks from the new album.

I quite fancy seeing Radiohead at a festival this year, the Iceland one takes my fancy.

Always seems to be easier to get Radiohead tickets for their overseas shows than home concerts.

Seeing The Dukes Spirit up at the Islington Assembly Hall tonight ,should be good.

Saw Charlottefield numerous times, and even play their albums every now and again. I taught Steve once upon a time too, and particularly liked The Projections.
