They went wayyyyy off script for this one but I’m all for it.I've not played the game, so I don't know how close to the source material it was, but Ep3 was a wonderful story about learning to love, both for Bill and Frank as well as Joel. Really enjoyed it.
I'm guessing their story wouldn't work so well in a 1st person computer game. They went wayyyyy off script for this one but I’m all for it.
Completely different outcome to their story in the game.
Spoilers below for the game ONLY, if you’re planning on playing it.I'm guessing their story wouldn't work so well in a 1st person computer game.
Third person…I'm guessing their story wouldn't work so well in a 1st person computer game.
Sorry, not played it, but I should have worked that out.Third person…
It’s a “looking at Joel’s back” simulator with nonstop misery. Fair to say it isn’t my favourite game series despite the critical and general popularity. On that basis I’ll not bother with this show…Sorry, not played it, but I should have worked that out.
I read an interview today with Neil Druckman and Craig Mazin. Apparently Druckman initially wanted to replicate the section from the game and Mazin said "no way, we've got space here to tell a really wonderful story about these two men" and that's what they did.Spoilers below for the game ONLY, if you’re planning on playing it.
When you meet Bill, Frank is already dead to a self-inflicted gunshot wound after becoming infected. You find a note which alludes to their relationship but that’s it.
Bill then joins you for a brief period as you go on an infected killing rampage through the town.
He later gifts Joel and Ellie the truck and waves them off, which brings us back in line with the game for the next episode.
Thoughts on episode 4?
I thought it was bloody brilliant, started out slowly setting the scene but soon turned into nail biting, edge of your seat stuff. Says a lot about the quality of the show that they've churned out a couple of cracking episodes without any sign of an infected. Really looking forward to ep 5.
Yeah. The game isn't about the "zombies". It's about people.I think the game was more about the inhumanity of humans more than that of the infected.
Don't view if you haven't played the game!I assume the moving floor thing is a form of infected?
Watched the first two episodes so far. It’s alright but certainly not anywhere near the levels of early The Walking Dead (yes I know it turned rubbish after a few seasons).I don't get it... we watched Episode One... got extremely bored, and gave up. Oh well, each to his/her own.
