I haven't been to a fancy dress party since my sixth form and undergraduate days - and that's a long time ago - but SS uniforms were not unusual at such occasions back then.

I'm genuinely surprised.

My Grammar school must have been positively communist by comparison. I can't think of any time in my life when it would have been considered aceptable to dress up as an SS officer, fancy dress or not.

FWLIW I've gone the whole hog with FD for a few events in recent years, always themed. None of them war or extremist political lunatic themed

Spelling is not linked to IQ.

Unless you actually think he misspelled "breaking the law" as "slice of cake" it's just possible I was cracking a funny. What I object to is the awful punctuation. No one writes five line paragraph sentences unless they're a bit stupid.

What have you got against working class tories?

I think it's mostly the forelock tugging, with a little bit of self importance and delusion thrown in. These days you can probably chuck in rampant Islamophobia and misunderstanding of the term "woke".

There are working class Tories and then there are thick working class Tories. Writing a five line sentence / paragraph, with punctuation a 13 year old would be ashamed of and without any concept of why people get criminal fines, puts him in the latter.

Obviously those with endless cultural references who can spell the names of actual pianists are probably in group one.

*of which a 13 year would be ashamed :lolol:

Elton John count, as he does play the piano

Wasn't a fan of Thatcher but at least she did have integrity. Johnson has reduced us to an International laughing stock...

To be fair you did study Sociology (with Hotel Studies) at The Polytechnic of Berlin from 1933 - 1936.

Tremendous work lads.

Ignore the criminal sitting in Number 10 who misled the house. Look at a perceived generalisation on the internet. Well done.

The Tories will do whatever they think they need to do to stay in power.

Photo Vote ID to supress votes, gerrymandering of boundaries, removing the independence of the electoral commission. They're up to all kinds of shit...

I have never seen you crack a funny.

Why should you object to puntuation??? Again this is not a measure of IQ.

The hypocritical left, that love following capitalist ways, make me chuckle.

By chance do you live in a council house GB???

I don't think the people who dressed up in SS uniform were any more Nazi sympathisers than the many vampires who also regularly turned up were genuinely interested in drinking the blood of virgins. Gangster costumes were also common (especially in the wake of Bonny and Clyde being a box office hit) but I don't think any of them went around machine gunning people - it was just a fancy dress costume, not a signal of support or approval!

*punctuation

You've assumed and generalised far more than I have. My dad was raised in a three room (that's ROOM not BEDROOM) council flat in Kings Cross and did ok for himself with hard work and sacrifice from his parents. I've done the same. For that reason, economically, I believe in hard work and meritocracy and certainly not in socialism.

However, I do not believe in the way the nasty party thinks of nothing but itself and is still run by the establishment with the help of useful idiots. I'm a social liberal and anti-racist who thinks our current Prime Minister is one of the most selfish, lying hypocrites ever to have walked the planet.

Hope that clears it up for you.
