Terrible timing from my point of view. I thought he was sure to remain till after the Reading match and so I've already piled on them to beat you.
Nothing's sure in football and that includes when a manager will go; I felt he was less likely to go now than he had been for weeks.

Nobody got on Poyet's back because we were in a relegation battle when Gus was first appointed and he got us out of it. Hyypia on the other hand, took the club from previously being a playoff contender to being in the shite we're in now. Completely opposite situation.

Hyypia didn't get us in the s hite, player retention/recruitment got us here.

If he has gone, without any sort of compensation, then Hyypia certainly goes with my best wishes. Honestly, as a humble fan, I really mean that. Sometimes things just don't work out, and falling on your sword when that happens is entirely honourable.

In the end it's been a victory for fan power over the wishes of the board, just that personally I thought Sami was a decent guy and it's a desperate shame he is on the wrong end of all this.

I wish Sami all the best for the future, and felt no personal animosity towards him at all. However, it was clear he had to go. Possibly he could be a defensive coach; after all he was mustard in Liverpool's defence. However, I despaired when I heard that the final choice was down to him and Hantz, who in my view would have fared even worse. I think it was pretty nailed on that Clement turned us down as he wanted to stay with Real Madrid. Possibly Sherwood did too, most likely because he wanted to bring Ferdinand and Ramsey with him. I think this time the club has to eat humble pie and offer the job again (if he'd take it at the third time of asking, having been rejected and then rejecting it himself), with whoever he wants to bring, though aren't Ferdinand and Ramsey at QPR now?

Hyypia took a mediocre squad and made them shite. The squad decline over the last year and a half, two years shouldn't be ignored but Hyypia did a bad job with what he had.

That's about how I see it too. The squad is definitely worse than it used to be, but it's not as bad as Hyypia made them play.

I don't see how you could argue this unless you are saying that Sami couldn't take another home game getting abused at and generally having his character questioned by a load of internet warriors.

If the club leave Jones in charge for the rest of the season, for the first time they can say bye bye to my season ticket renewal money. If they get some experienced manager in and we still go down I will still renew. If I feel the club is trying its best to sort out this mess they will get my full support what ever happens in the league. If they piss about they can naff off.

Absolutely delighted he is gone. I'm convinced he isn't a football manager. At the same time i actually feel sorry for him because at the end of the day he was a really nice bloke. It's a sad day but the right result.

That would depend on the games, but I'd probably put it down to dead cat bounce... Not sure we can take such a big risk at this stage of proceedings anyway. Plus he is a total bellend.

Dear Sami
Thank you for the short time you were at our club. Whilst I, and I'm sure most of NSC, had great expectations this year, your style of management just was not up to our way of playing. Sometimes it takes a big man to admit defeat and leave. You were a great footballer, that's not in question, and I expect you to move on to another club whose football style is similar to yours. Sometime in the future you may return with an opposing team and I promise you the stadium will applaud you. But in this case the square plug round hole scenario really played out.
