I was going to add getting sacked by Watford but I would imagine I have been beaten to it.

Did Titanic deserve 11 oscars ? I did think it was an excellent film though
Its all subjective old boy, is it equally about what it was up against that year?

In the year Goodfellas only one one, Joe Pesci, Dick Tracey won 3!

If you want injustice its there right in front of you.

Maybe not just injustice actually more about who he'd previously upset or whose wives he'd shagged, but Richard Burton was nominated 7 times but never won once!

Peter O'Toole was nominated 8 times without a win!

With the nominations today what where the great ever miscarriages ? For me

1. Ralph Fiennes in schindler's list losing to Tommy Lee Jones in the fugative for best actor
2. Saving Private Ryan losing best picture to Shakespeare in Love
3. Alfred Hitchcock never winning a best director Oscar
4. Amy Adams not being nominated for Arrival
Norman Wisdom never getting a sniff of anything!!

One of the greatest scenes in cinematic history and a travesty that the film and cast were cruelly overlooked! :)

I absolutely loathe Forrest Gump. The idea that dumbed down folksy bollocks is profound and honest went on to poison a lot of public life in the USA. The film is the total opposite of Being There which parodies this nonsense.
I was hoping to find some hate for Forrest Gump and here it is. I honestly think it's awful and just a collection of stories about a guy who is not overly pleasant to anyone throughout the film. I can't stand Robin Wright, so her Jenny is painful to suffer through. I find there to be absolutely nothing charming about Forrest Gump at all. It's rubbish.

Nickel Boys should have won best picture this year. A great film, shot in the first person.

I had a blog where I (obviously) wrote reviews of local cats. My review of "The cat that should be named Oskar" (https://kungalvskatter.wordpress.com/2017/05/04/katten-som-borde-heta-oskar/) I wrote this:

The cat Oskar is probably named something else due to having female genitalia but looks like an Oskar-shaped mold, so we choose to call them that. We found the cat strolling on a street adjacent to the Creation Cat, in other words, somewhere in the outer old edges of Kungälv… Whatever. You'll have to look for yourself.

Oskar was initially hesitant about our affection, but after we followed them for a bit, they eventually showed trust and rubbed against our outstretched limb. It was a short but wonderful moment: Oskar is soft. Oskar is a very soft cat.

We hope to meet Oskar again; our brief encounter only gave us a glimpse of their greatness. Behind super-cat Oskar, there is likely a super-duper-cat Oskar.

Meow: 5/10
Oskar never meowed in our presence, but we sense good meowing potential.

Personality: 8/10
Oskar is an independent cat. Lots of balls despite the lack of balls. Looks angry but has a heart of gold. Very wise, too. Aware.

Fur: 9/10
Not silky smooth but close enough. A sofa made of pure Oskar fur would cost at least 20,000 kronor. Soft. Nice. Soft.

Appearance: 8/10
Fat or just fluffy, but beautiful.

Pettable: Yes
But might bite your hand off if you're rude.

Total: 30/40

I've always felt that I was way too positive about Oskar. I was a happy guy, newly in love with a girl and think I just gave this cat a too high rating. In reality he was more of a 20/40 or so.
