Escribá Fran gets down to business. Elche CF coach keep this morning meeting with athletic director, Jesus Huerta, to try to streamline and unlock some issues that are on the table about the making of the current squad.

The discrepancies in the final choice of some players, especially among Toño Garcia and Jesus Huerta, combined with the difficulty of being able to go close the signings of players who handle offers from other teams, is making everything go more slowly than normal .

Door to the inside, in Elche have very clear ideas and have been presented and the various offers to those players who fall within the desired profile. For the goal, the first option is to Manu Herrera, Alcorcón goalkeeper. With 31 years of age, this season is not going to follow in the Madrid box. Currently, the keeper is on vacation and left the matter to his representative.

Manu Herrera wants to make the leap to a First Division team. Meet the interest of Elche, which has made a good offer, and must decide before the end of the week. The second option is to Caesar, former Villarreal goalkeeper. Is the alternative although his age, 41 years ago that is not among the first. The options have been ruled out are those of James and Thomas Mejias, Real Madrid Castilla.

The former has played this season in the Greek Tripolis Asteras and his salary is prohibitive, above 700,000 euros. While Real Madrid are not willing to give vent to one of the young promises of the goal. It is international and will be this season's reserve team.

More names

In a situation very similar are the cases of Braulio Nobrega and Ferran Corominas. Both have the offer of Elche, but still without a clear future. Among other reasons because they handle different alternatives and they will try to rush to the fullest because the desire of the two is to be in the Premier League.

Braulio, who this season has excelled in Cartagena, has a very good offer from Sporting Gijon while Elche has also negotiated with his agent Juanma Lopez. However, the front still has not opted for any team.

Ferran Corominas have the option of Celta Vigo but their financial offer is lower than the franjiverde, who are willing to pay the 100,000 euros for his release clause. And take a contract that exceeds 200,000 euros annually. Corominas is the first choice for the attack.

While strengthening, Fran Escribá want to gain the services of Vincent Rodriguez. The ex internacional and Valencia player would be willing to accept the proposal of Elche, if he can terminate the contract year which diminishes with the Brighton & Hove Albion in the Football League Championship coached by Gustavo Poyet.

The player should to be incorporated this week his team, but for now still in Valencian. And will try best to force to accept the option of Elche. Vincent is 31 years old and has played for over ten years in the ranks of all che.

not good, if he want to go to Elche im not sure we can stop him. i dont think they will pay a substantial fee and dont think it would do anyone well to dig our heals in. he isnt going to play/perform if disgruntled so why cause bad feeling? if Gus can convince him to stay, that will be great, but if he wants to return to Valencia (the region) then thanks for the memories.

Is that the memory of 9 months of injury 'in the head' or the dreadful, open goal miss at 0-0 against Reading.
Put him in the stiffs til he buys out his own contract

Let him go if he wants and let's keep some good will and a reputation as a club that agents and players want to deal with. Let him bring up his new baby surrounded by family and friends, as we would all want to do.

Oh, and insert a clause that prevents him playing for another English club for, say, three years?

Erm, yes - first Saturday home game then... (it's first in my head cos I can't make Cardiff...)

Maybe Barnsley as the first home Saturday game put him off.

Before he goes can we take a sperm sample and inseminate an English Olympian? That way we can quite literally grow our own little Vicentes. It won't just be the dagger, we could have the whole Cluedo set in 18 years. It's got to be cheaper than pissing about with agents and moody foreigners, surely?

Pork pie land.
So you would like the club to have a bad name for keeping a player here, who would rather go home for family reasons?
But....
As I say if he wanted to go to say Southampton or Reading then of course we are doing the right thing.
But....
He actually might want to stay here all along and hes just been busy with family atm.

Are you for real?

BW is exactly right. It is more important that we do not get a reputation for being a soft touch. These players are pampered too much already.

I was really looking forward to watching him next season, and loved every minute of it last season. Definitely looks like we're going to say bye to him, gutted.

Do you mean one of the GB Olympic women's football team, or someone like Jessica Ennis? Either way, this is the sort of bold thinking that has been missing from British football for far too long.

Tell you what, we could spread the seed amongst a whole variety of Olympians. Inseminate a few high jumpers for the keeper, the sprinters for the wingers and chuck a cheeky little tadpole up the shot-putter and we've got a future Adam El-Abd ready made for us.

look at the big picture. we have a spanish speaking management team, who have plucked Calde then Vicente and partly on Vicente's reccomendation, Saltor. and they will get us good players from that part of the world.

if you make an example of Vicente who has just had a kid and whose wife didnt settle well, you close the door to many more spanish options in the future, agents and players will hear about that so what is the point, just to show we're tough? by holding a family man here on 20k a week whose family are in Spain, and who wants to be with them.

this does not seem to be a Tevez move for greed or Vicente angling to go to a bigger club. Elche are shit and wont pay what we do. its for family reasons, and family always comes before work.

Holding Vicente against his will (having said we wouldn't) will do more long term damage to the club than any minimal short term gain

Didnt BBC Sussex say last night that BHA were in discussions with his advisors re his contract.

I thought they meant ironing out the details, but looking at the Elche interview peterward posted, maybe its to try & negotiate out of the extra Year ???

It looks like the Club did exactly the right thing in exercising their option. After all the money and effort put in to rescue his playing career, he repays us like that. Arsehole.

Want to deal with because we won't enforce negotiated clauses ? He can stay in Spain - of course he can. We can understand that. But let the club he moves to pay for his services.

To a point I have to agree, although maybe not quite as strongly :).

Then again very few players these days feel they owe anything to any one club but surely in this case, seeing as no one really wanted him last year due to his injuries you would of hoped he stayed. Just hope we dont give in now we have exercised the option by letting him go for next to nothing.

I agree DKM

Just think though, if agents thought we wouldnt enforce any clauses, we could get away with putting all sorts in players contracts, only for them to realise that Vicente was a one off & all other clause will be enforced ;)
