Extreme slobishness from Johnson yesterday disheveled hair unbottoned coat looked like he'd just got up from a week long bender. Disgraceful lack of respect.

But the BBC coverage this morning is showing him laying a wreath from 2016 and not yesterday, wonder why

Looks to me as though the key factor in those numbers is the growth in Lib Dem votes, presumably hard core 'revoker's? I'd imagine once it becomes obvious that Lib Dems cannot win in that seat, the number will dwindle considerably - with votes switching to Labour as the only viable 'chance of remain' option.

I'd imagine both parties will lose a few to Brexit party, but probably not enough to make the difference.

All guesswork and assumption of course, like every other prediction so far. So many factors at play!

I passed a group of Brexiters displaying posters and banners and handing out leaflets in a Sussex village High Street on Saturday morning and I wondered why they were there. Arundel and South Downs has a 24,000 Tory majority - although some polls are show the LibDems, a poor third last time, closing in dramatically - and narrowly voted Remain in the referendum. The only possible effect of the Brexit Party is to increase the slender chance of a LibDem upset. I wish them well.

I admire their sense of participation too. The Times this morning says that the Brexit Party should stand down to allow the Tories to sweep home. Patronising garbage. If voters are intelligent and discerning people (and we are assured they are) then the greater the choice the better. It is marker of these revolting times that a respected newspaper should be demanding that people with an entirely legal set of beliefs should be denied a party to vote for, all on the grounds of expediency.

Another Emily Thornberry car crash interview on GMB this morning re Labour's position on Trident, only eclipsed by her question time explanation of Labour's position on Brexit.

Personally, I respect jezzas stance on trident, but just be honest with people and say you're gonna cancel trident and spend the money on schools, nhs etc. He's not a man of principle.

Could be. That site had labour votes falling by 4000, brexit increasing by 4000 and tories staying the same. Just an algorithm that probably works in Workington but not in Woodingdean is my guess. But we shall see

The actual headline quote was 'Nigel Farage should withdraw his Brexit Party candidates from the election or risk seeing the cause to which he has devoted his career end in failure'.
The only reason I suggest you are keen to see the Brexit Party stand against the Conservatives is so that they take a number of votes away from them and possibly deny Johnson a majority which could result in Brexit not happening.
Nothing wrong in that, but why not just be honest about it instead of calling it patronising garbage?

I didn't see that - but I did hear her on Today where she really struggled to give any credible answers to Nick Robinson.

Labour do seem remarkably proficient at putting people up for media duties who seem ridiculously ill-prepared and/or just not very good. I'm not suggesting the Tories don't do the same, but Labour seem to do it a LOT.

In stark contrast I heard Grant Schapps on 5Live whilst out walking the dog yesterday morning and he was very polished indeed. Slippery as a fish, obviously, but very accomplished.

Farage not standing in Tory seats is a massive boost to Johnson and his chums. Very depressing to be honest. Tacit admission though that the Tories and the Brexit mob are two sides of the same coin.

Sounds to me like he actually had no confidence in over half of the assorted nutjobs, bellends, racists, conspiracy theorists and general wankpuffins he was putting forward as candidates.

I'm not sure, however, that it makes more sense. 317 is not a majority and there is now a risk of a semi-competant Brexiteer splitting the right wing vote in Labour held marginals.

Still, just goes to show you can't trust a single word that Farage says.
