I'm afraid you might - only the performance matters, not the result! If the performance is all right, then we should all be delighted because 22 years ago we were utter toilet. Of course, 20 years ago we were on our way to winning the first of 2 (TWO) league titles consecutively. Not that it's relevant, but our esteemed manager thinks it is. Personally, I thought he came across as a prat in the interview but I've never bought into the cult of Potter. I think his tenure will be pretty quickly forgotten once he finally departs.

I haven't enjoyed watching his team play at least 90% of the time and I haven't enjoyed his press conferences 99% of the time. Every time I hear him speak I wonder how he could possibly motivate a dressing room. He had a real chance to say something meaningful after we beat City and Pep had a tantrum, but he immediately went into wet blanket mode and apologised for having done nothing wrong at all.

I generally am willing and able to appreciate the content of the game, other than just the goals, and if boogate hadn't been rumbling on, I would probably be over the result, and be appreciating our league position and the excellent play, but right then at the final whistle I was pissed off, and because Potter has chosen to dismiss not just the boos, but the reasons for the boos, I am still pissed off with the result. I am going to give myself a break for a few days, and not think about football at all.

Two years ago you wanted Chris Wilder as the new manager. Would you have enjoyed being Sheffield United for 90% of last season?

Last year you suggested Steve Bruce would be a good new manager. Would you have enjoyed being Newcastle for 90% of this season?

You have a weird taste.

Personally I've enjoyed watching the football played for about 80% of the games. Probably comes as no surprise but I dont think I'm the only one. Obviously also painful suffering for about 80% of the end of the games but such is life when you sit there hoping a seagull is going to win fights over falcons, weasels and grizzly bears.

I have never said I wanted Chris Wilder as manager, and regarding Steve Bruce - I said he'd have done exactly what Potter had done with the team, in a different style. Newcastle finished above us both seasons Bruce was there and Potter was here, no?

My point is that Potter is style without substance. I think that's been pretty clearly proven throughout his time here. With few standout results, I think it's fair to say that the overwhelming majority of matches under Potter's leadership have been drab, forgettable and boring. Like the man himself.

Could have confused you with someone re: Wilder.

Anyway, on the subject of the matches under Potter being boring: we all appreciate different things in football and different kinds of football, so obviously there is no right or wrong on that topic. I can imagine those thinking that results are all there is to it might agree with you and as long as Brighton remain in the Premier League you will never ever have as fun as you had with CH, Poyet and other historical managers who managed to climb in divisions.

Are they looking at replays though? The ball did sit up a bit for Maups, making it missable and unfortunately he did. Other strikers may also have missed that - it's a shame, but I certainly wouldn't slate him for it. We looked half the attacking force once he was replaced.

I don't dislike Wilder, but I felt his Sheffield United team was a house of cards built on Dean Henderson in goal. Once he was gone and replaced with the awful (although seemingly improving) Ramsdale, I knew their success wouldn't last. I really haven't wanted Wilder as manager, but you won't struggle to find me wanting Howe or Lampard - for better or worse.

I do agree with that second paragraph - it's very subjective. There were plenty of boring games under Hughton, which is why he was fired despite keeping us up. Poyet also dished up go nowhere football at times too, but it was forgiven and largely forgotten because of all the statement matches everyone can quote as an "I was there". Potter has been unlucky because of the pandemic, but also lucky in that fans haven't been in the stadium to let him know the year without a home win wasn't good. And we're off on another of those runs we have every season where we can't buy a win.

I don't believe that we're doomed to boring matches until relegation. What would be the fun in thinking that was possible?! I go to matches for the entertainment, not to see us win - that's always preferred of course but a defeat in a good football match is more enjoyable than failing to push over a poor team as we had on Saturday.

Personally I love the style of play.

I don't have any time, for either the "Brighton fans shouldn't expect anything more because they used to be in a lower division" narrative, nor the "anyone who offers any criticism doesn't understand football" b****** that he comes out with.

Wooooah easy there tiger. Not sure which games you've been at but they're never boring - frustrating perhaps but if Bloom won't give Potter all the tools to do the job then we will continue to feel frustrated.

Still in Brighton
Football is a combination of panto and Gladiators (the old style not the cheesefest programme in the 90s) so a few boos isn't much to cry about. Grahamie P seems to have a bit of an achilles heel over perceived lack of support though. Not now but in the future this could see a major flounce and be the end of him here imo.

How can you love it? We struggle to score goals, rarely win and often end up talking about stats rather than results because one is (arguably) good, and the other is disappointing. The man himself I have no interest in or time for.

One of the more generous interpretations of the incident that i've read

I just love the way we knock it around mate. I love all that.

Hate the fact we can't score though. The dog would have been on the receiving end on Saturday evening ... if in fact, I owned a dog

That is certainly the only explanation that makes any sense at all.

If you are suggesting that Potter brought on Locadia, and risked losing all three points, just to make a point to Mr Chairman then that is a totally disgraceful attitude. With his "emotional intelligence" training, the correct approach would have been to request a meeting to discuss the striker options. Putting on a guy who can barely play the game, is overweight, unfit, lacking in talent, just to "make a point" is childish and pathetic.

I hope you are wrong because that really isn't the way to go about his job.

If Jet was rocking up at t'AMEX every other week I wouldn't give a fudge about what was happening on the pitch.

Having seen your video from Sweden, he's been there before and I wonder whether he was trying to raise the issue to get some fans to gain some perspective and nip it in the bud.

Time will tell whether they have.

All the time Potter is staring at Locadia with his Messi tinted spectacles on, I can't see the boos stopping any time soon.

Stop picking lazy Locadia for the matchday squads, and certainly don't ever put him on the pitch again, and maybe the fans will become more tolerant.

Don't go there. I have literally just fished my Southampton tickets out of the mouth of my new puppy who beat me to the postie's dropping envelope.

The fact I was annoyed with him shows I probably do still want to watch this team play football on a regular basis however.

Sorely tempted to boo the postie for not knocking and hand delivering them.
