They are disabled toilets and food kiosks at both ends, the viewing platforms are to provide premium views for the disabled as opposed to pitch side only. Great idea but could surely have been done a bit more 'aesthetically pleasing'

I agree, I haven't seen this done at any other stadium, another 1st for the Albion. As I said, great for the disabled although I imagine it's been designed in such a way where it could easily be 'terraced' over if the premiership beckoned.

10/10 ..... can't see a justification for the deduction, aren't we always saying that Amex is great because it isn't just an out of the box stadium the same as many we have seen over the last ten years or so?

I don't think disabled people like the idea that we are a waste of space. Given that it is law to offer disabled people the same elevation that able bodied can be seated. I do however agree it could look better than it does.

Wouldn't be a true 'Community' stadium if it did not offer decent facilities for all. It is no longer acceptable to marginalise people with mobility needs. I presume the area is required to include dedicated lifts, welfare and safety arrangements? It will be interesting to hear feedback from users.

Good for the Albion to provide such prominent facilities even if it does look slightly odd.

This picture was released quite a while ago I think, and caused quite a long thread about the disabled areas in the Upper East.

I don't think this photo shows those areas in particular in the exact way they will look when finished, so it's not worth people getting too upset about the 'look' just yet.

Quite pleased that we will be offering some of the best disabled facilties and viewing areas in the country though, instead of just being plonked in a corner at pitch level

Surely the facilities could have been under the stand with an adequate viewing platform rather than two huge portacabin things taking up about a 1/4 of the space in the stand.

Is it a sacrifice of space though? We got planning permission for a 30,750 capacity stadium, and that is exactly what we have.

I do however agree it could look better than it does.

I think The Albion are obliged to provide a minimum percentage of the overall stadium for disabled spectators so with a 30k capacity it is inevitable that this will take up a decent amount of space. Secondly providing the same sort of view as others in the ESU means it will be fairly prominent.

As someone else mentioned the photo may be out of date and the finished article might look different, so best not to form conclusions until then.

Agreed mate, the usual ignorant views from the ignorant few on this board, I think its great, and rather than stick the disabled supporters at ground level, usually in a corner.... we have offered them prime position, another factor that makes this ground better than many others....... :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Having disabled access to top east tier is a great idea. From photos the two zones look functional rather than a design masterpiece. Would look better with a few banners or flags draped over the portakabins and concrete to blend it in a bit. I'm sure this could be done at minimal cost to the club.

This is a DISGRACE.

The additional tier in our brand-spanking-new, award-winning, BEAUTIFUL soon to be 30,000 capacity stadium looks A BIT WEIRD at the end because we're giving disabled fans a decent view. I don't know how I can continue to be an Albion fan.

I shall be chucking my electronic swipe-card season ticket in Gus' face the first chance I get.
