just watching tonights episode on 4+1.
It hasn't been as good as I thought but neither has it been as dire as some of the critics on here. I know some of the plot has been pretty far fetched, but you have to suspend your disbelief a little. Just because it's set in our home city and the scenery is instantly recognisable, some people seem to want an almost documentary realism to the characters and social issues.

I don't want a documentary I'd just like something to happen. Just watched ep 3 on catch up and something almost, almost happened with the start of a shoot out and then Ritchie almost getting caught in the farmhouse but both scenes just kind of withered into nothing. The Albanians driving around in those Land Rovers, all piling out and back in again every 5 mins, it's like the Ant Hill mob, moving around all the time and doing nothing. Nothing ever happens! What happened to the West Pier sub-plot hasn't been mentioned after the first 30 seconds of the first episode. I'll watch the last episode tonight cos I want answers but I think it's gonna be a non-event.

I'm still watching. My own Father developed Alzheimer's Disease so I can relate to that aspect of the storyline. In fact I am convinced that the original intention of the author was to highlight this dreadful condition and the crime sequences were intented to capture an audience who would not otherwise watch the programme,

Ahhhh, this series has been so frustrating. some brilliant touches, lovely shots of Brighton and landmarks, some great touches in the script. Great performances by the cast, but as much as I've tried to defend it, their was something missing.

Thought it was very atmospheric but the actual story line was pretty weak

Confabulations

Disappointing. Strangely the first episode was probably the best one. Another 5/10

Not recommended. Missed the first episode though.

I wanted to see a crime thriller that got to grips with Brighton (since Brighton Rock) but this one hardly got to grips with its own plot.

I learned a long forgotten word though.
