Some of it was filmed in Bristol. I know it's part of the story, a massive part but his whole dementia episodes are annoying me. I want to get on and see what happens, his blurry eyed spells are getting on my tits.

What I really want to know is why the plot is full of these Albanians and Scots. There are easily enough crooks in Brighton to populate a drama without importing any more ...

Brighton factually.....

Most of the homeless on the streets are Scots and a fair chunk of the local hotel staff are Albanians I think that pretty fair reflection of crooks in Brighton.

Know what you mean, but Brighton is a transient enough city for it to work I think.

If you look at our capital city it is over run with foreign gangs from the Albanians, Kurds, Turks, African, however your honest hardworking Cockney gangster hardly gets a look in now.

Yes I thought that - the dementia thing is overplayed and the bit about 50 houses is absurd. If could afford to give up 50 houses in Brighton like that he would need to own about 3000 and he would have more than 2 sons and two blokes around him.

Exactly this. If he says he doesn't want a war etc and as you say he can afford to give away 50 houses, (oh and evict the current ocupants in broad daylight, by force and a van in 50, 50!! seperate properties without attracting any attention from the police at all???) why don't the whole family just up sticks and move to the sun somewhere and enjoy their fortune? They make out Brighton's a dive, run by Albanian sex and drug traffickers where murder and violence occurs at the drop of a hat, why not just leave them to it? So far all I can see he would be leaving behind is a half burned down hotel, The Pussycat club, a shitty art gallery and a model of a pier. It's a messy programme.

The problem we have is we know the area and pick holes in the geography. I am sure if it was set in Blackpool the locals would have the same sort of criticisms while we would just accept locations and judge the storyline on its own merits or lack of.

Indeed, almost every drama set in the UK shows a villian being chased round a corner and ending up in a different street or even town, only the residents notice, 99.999% of the viewers don't. Did you ever see Circus? runs round the corner near The Sussex comes out near The Concord. A full set of golfing gear, clubs, trollys the lot, the're on the fukin pitch n putt at Roedean, but who really cares?

Posh end of Shoreham
A snail has got more pace than this drama just watched 2nd episode in time for tonight's 3rd instalment
Normally you side with the villains/gangsters that a film follows but not this lot can't wait for the old man to bite the bullit and his sons

Hilarious as this post is I wonder whether you have grasped the premise of ALL drama ever shown anywhere? At a stroke you have pissed all over channel 5s marketing plan. Why the f*** would Steven Segal / Chuck Norris / Jean Claude Van Damme care if the Columbians/Cubans/Blacks decided to open up a Sex Traffic/Cocaine/Extortion racket in their Block/town/apartment?

They could just cash in their Police pension/assassination funds/classic car collections and f*** off to Florida or wherever rather than get involved in all of that business.

It would be more dignified for everyone if they did to be fair.

Like Morse and Lewis. Whenever the characters drive anywhere, they take an extremely scenic route past as many Oxford colleges as possible.
