Gary Dicker is Irish yo.
I was struggling to find players to prove my point

Gone are the days of writing Trusson, Wade, Peter Smith.

Would be seriously pissed off
Hate Arsenal and Chelsea for this reason
I'm glad Gus is not of the Arsene mentality though so will never happen

No, because I'm not xenophobic.

With respect, who said anything about being xenophobic?

I have no irrational fear of foreigners, just a desire to see our national identify reflected in our team. When you lose your sense of identity, there is little else left.

You wanted more British players, English players, local players.

Be careful what you wish for.

The thing is, who do you love more, in the stripes
Bruno or Dicker?
Calde or Dunk?
Vicente or Harley?

Summed up perfectly. Couldn't give a monkeys cuss where they come from, as long as they give their all for the stripes.

quite the opposite.....my heart sinks when we sign a british player as they're usually over priced and lacking in technical ability

foreign players all the way....they're almost always better than an english player costing the same amount

can't WAIT for us to field an all-foreign eleven

It's club football so, no.

What matters to me is the player wants to play for and in Brighton. Calde is a great example. And how about Michel Kuipers. Brighton through and through.

Hope we also produce home grown talent.

One thing not mentioned on this thread so far, our upcoming new academy.

Hopefully decent British talent will be flowing into the first team from it in a short few years. :)

... a little piece of me inside will die. :(

Will anybody else feel the same?

If that ever does happen the answer is YES. I am a big big fan of British players. I don't mind the odd foreign flair player to add a bit of excitement, but would much prefer a British team.
