lots of threads and comments about slade, but none about the chuckle brothers. think about it, thursday and friday were the first 2 days training led by new blood and for the first time in YEARS they were probably doing something meaningful on the training ground, maybe like defending set pieces etc rather than the jumpers for goalposts knockabout shit that the chuckle brothers used to prescribe.

we now have an organisation that is truly professional and serious, top to bottom. that is what will take us places.

Jesus are you serious? New manager syndrome, is there any danger of everyone just calming down a little bit.

Well, all season actually.

Poyet takes it up the arse.
I can't believe you think he will be a success on here.
No one even likes him.

erm timbo, I never mentioned poyet, this is a thread about how good it feels to be rid of the chuckle brothers. I didn't mention the word manager or poyet, so try reading it again.

if my point WAS about poyet, don't you think I might have posted it on one of the several threads that already exist going overboard about the man?!

That'll be these YEARS then?

1999/2000 when we returned to Brighton, finished 11th.

2000/2001 Promoted as Champions.

2001/2002 Promoted as Champions.

2002/2003 Tried but failed to survive (only just) in the Championship playing sides like West Ham, Derby, Reading, Leeds, Norwich etc etc.

2003-2004 Promoted by the playoffs.

2004-2005 Survived a season in the Championship playing against sides like West Ham, Ipswich, Derby, Norwich etc etc.

2005/2006 Relegated after gallantly trying to puch well above our weight in the Championship playing teams like West Ham, Leeds, Norwich, Wigan, etc etc.

2006/2007 Finished 18th in league one. (BB left in September of this season)

2007/2008 Finished one place of the play offs.

2008/2009 Finished 16th in league one.

To my mind that equates to a [edit] 2 seasons in the Withdean years where we have failed abysmally to perform to an acceptable level, and that was last season and 06/07.

Why have people got such a downer on 2 people who worked their hardest, and experienced a reasonable amount of success, during their time with the club. Seriously, if you are to blame them, or make them the scapegoats or partly culpable for last season, then equally you have to congratulate them for their input on the seasons pervious to that when the Albion did remarkably well, considering the clubs financial status and the handicap that is Withdean.

2007/2008 Finished 16th in league one.

To my mind that equates to a single season in the Withdean years where we have failed abysmally to perform to an acceptable level, and that was last season.

Crap Town
The dynamic duo could be heading north , RS is one of 6 interviewees this week at Blundell Park and if he gets the job might want to bring in his own coaching staff.

I think that you've missed one other poor season in there somewhere, but you do still make a fair point.

Yup, I did, by accident, just added it in now

YES BUT FOR HOW MANY OF THOSE HAVE THEY BEEN NUMBER 2 + 3 AND BEEN SO DIRECTLY INVOLVED WITH THE FIRST TEAM?

I want dispute they are both great servants to the club but ultimately neither was up to the job they were being asked to do, Dean White was a brilliant scout, that doesnt make him assistant manager

Phil your chronological assessment of achievement ends in 2005 really nothing has been achieved since. Therein lies the answer, even in four years and at this level the game has moved on tactically. I mean did you see how quickly we were moving the ball about yesterday and how much the full backs supported midfield. Its a whole new ball game

 Well put!

Very well put, I hate all this blame on BB and DW, and A-EB.

This puts it all in to perspective.
