This thread is one of Crodo's better efforts. Definitely reeled a few in with the Top 3 comment. I suspect, in all seriousness, it just about scrapes into the top 3 sporting events between Oxford and Cambridge Universities

It will not be the same if it is taken away from The Thames. Putney to Mortlake , past Fulham F C ... classic. Putting it on the Ouse is like running The Derby at Brighton race course.... just not the same thing

I do get why they are doing it though. There are enough Covidiots to make a third wave.......

The Grand National was held at Gatwick for three years during WW1

What a spectacle, an incredible afternoon and Andrew Cotter was quite right to ask whether they were the best boat races ever?? As exhilarating and breathtaking as they were not sure whether they would make number 1 but certainly top.5 and our outdoor guests had an absolute hoot watching it.

I’m surprised Crodo missed the most exciting news of all. This is the first time in 166 years there will be a woman umpire, Sarah Winkless.

Sarah Winkleless you say.

Crondo missed that one.

This is rubbish.
All the skill and tactics of the bends and the tide etc have all been taken away, surely they could have found a river that was a bit similar.

Yes l agree, the Amazon perhaps? Might have been interesting watching the winning crew trying to avoid the piranha when they were thrown in the river.

As clearly a big fan of rowing...fancy representing your company at a rowing day with the GB Rowers (I'll make sure they all went to Oxford / Cambridge) at Henley on Thames as part of www.onesportingcity.com/londonevents?
