The Best Rock Anthems

Could you give us an idea of what you consider to be 'The Best Rock Anthems' then?

To be fair I'd be picking much more modern tracks like Seven Nation Army, Run, Bittersweet Symphony, A Design For Life, ect, ect but even picking old track most of this lot are very decent FIQL Playlist - 50 Greatest Rock Anthems especially The Who, Neil Young and the Rolling Stones.

Personally, I think any top fifty that has Springsteen's 'Born in the USA' at 9 and 'Glory Days' at 42 needs to take a serious look at itself

Sorry, to hog this thread, but the whole album is great. Sometimes, when you're feeling crap, it's great to wallow in an album where someone else is obviously feeling crap. For me, this is that album. "Then the lights go out, and it's just the three of us - you, me and all that stuff we're so scared of". I always feel better afterwards!

It's also my favourite record of his, with his marriage on the rocks and the imminent bale out into Patti Scialfa's arms (and bed). The cover shot is resignation personified, as in, 'What have I got myself into and how can I get out of it....'

Never made the Wembley Express Tour show, so am searching the internet for one of the many bootlegs from that tour

Been re-appreciating 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' as well, as the follow up to BtR, and it really does hold up well

I like Springstein but not THAT much ! However, he has produced more athems than all of the Indie bands put together.

However, the two real athems are either Stairway to Heaven or Freebird.
