Can't beat a bit of The Boss.

If I had to pick one favourite track, it'd have to be Born To Run, but with such classics as The River, Born In The USA, Brilliant Disguise, Atlantic City, Thunder Road, Badlands, Glory Days, Human Touch, Jungleland, My Hometown. Streets Of Philadelphia et al, I'm pretty spoilt for choice.

I may be only 25, and so wasn't even born when BtR came out, but I know great music when I hear it.

Fuckin hell you lot have no taste whatsoever. Seems like me and the old man are the only people on here who this Springsteen is SHIT! I just tried listening to that link Spielberg and that is quite possibly the worst link anyone has ever posted on NSC

Streets of Philadelphia is very good.

This one is the best and I defy anyone to diagree with me.

The Boss hit his peak with this in 1975.

US

Might have been the boss back in 1975.

But now he is just a condescending cu*t.

Check out this recent interview!!

Could you give us an idea of what you consider to be 'The Best Rock Anthems' then?

I can never get into that album. I find it all a bit overblown and forced - it's too close to Bat Out of Hell, but lacks the tongue in cheap camp of that record. I like Born in the USA (album and song) much better.

Either this is a wind-up, or you don't realise that Bat Out Of Hell is pretty much a tribute to Bruce's music, especially Born to Run, and includes band members! Born In The USA IS somewhat "overblown and forced", though.

Well, I checked it out, and I don't hear anything "condescending" (I'll ignore the cu*t bit). He's talking about the magic of music, which he says is a youth energy. "We learned more from a three minute record than we ever learned in school". Yeah, time stops when you hear some magic single.

Sorry, to hog this thread, but the whole album is great. Sometimes, when you're feeling crap, it's great to wallow in an album where someone else is obviously feeling crap. For me, this is that album. "Then the lights go out, and it's just the three of us - you, me and all that stuff we're so scared of". I always feel better afterwards!

I tend to agree with you. How dare someone try to articulate their music eh?

You'd never guess from their music and cover art they had Rod Smallwood as a manager would you?

Nothing condescending there. Just a bit over your head maybe.
