Hard to explain how groundbreaking they were, especially as it all sounds a bit twee these days.

Tomorrow Never Knows? Twee? Makes just about everything on Radio 6 sound like it was sung by the Beverley Sisters. Listen again my friend!

They were fantastic, and proof that the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. IMHO most of Lennon's solo stuff was pretty medicore.

For all those Beatles lovers out there, including myself, make sure you don't miss the Bootleg Beatles at the Dome on 1st December. It's the closest you'll ever get to seeing the original Beatles.

As one of the older members,I saw them live at the Hamersmith Odean Christmas 1966, along with the Yardbirds and Freddie and the Dreamers,so put that in your pipe and smoke it.
I was eleven.

Good shout - I watched them in brighton a few years back. Really good show. They split it in to 3 parts: The early days with the suits, the Sgt Pepper and then the final years. Great stuff.

Twat or not he is arguably the most talented musican of a generation and earnt the money he's worth. Can you put a price on the music The Beatles produced? No jumped up little ex porn star deserves to take is hard earned away.

His solo work is very good, or are you referring to his chairty work?
you said he was the most talented musician possibly in a generation!
i am not out to offend anyone and it makes a good debate; but i honestly think they are not as good as the stones and my question was what had he done in the last 25 yrs so i was on about his solo work and listening to some of it im not inspired !
no offence
