Cardiff came out the traps very fast and we did well to keep it levels-your-devils as they pushed hard for 15-20 minutes. We came into the game well though and dominated the second half of the half with some incisive play, creating some good chances and could easily have been in front at the break.

The break seemed to have come at the right time for Cardiff as the second half opened very scrappily, with no fluency from either side. Stand out moments were the double save from Kuszczak - probably the first points he has earned us. LuaLua then went very close with a curling effort from outside the box.

Overall though, there seemed to be a lack of thrust from us against a team that, as the half wore on, were clearly happy for a draw. That I'm struggling to remember their 'keeper making a save of any note in the second half says it all.

Good atmosphere at times and the Amex looks splendid. I suspect the big gap in the South will look very poor on the television. Also: 25,518? Really? Are we counting no shows now in a Palace-esque fashion? I simply don't believe that number were in the ground.

I appreciate these threads. Though I have learned to get in early, read a few and get out, while the going is still smooth.

Cheers

The fact that some of us will be feeling frustrated shows how far we've come. Cardiff are a consistently top 6 side who had to work very hard to keep us out. Good level of performance from the spine and full backs, just need that little extra cutting edge up top.

That double save from Kooshack, OH.MY.GOD. That was outstanding. Echo's of the West Ham game last season, didn't create any real chances even though we dominated most of the game (apart from first 20). Also could have had 3 goals in a ten minute spell from about 20-30 minutes in the game. Lovely dummy from Crofts for a one-on-one for CMS.

Cardiff were excellent at the start, helguson for one missed a sitter, but they seemed to run out of ideas very quickly and Bellamy hardly had a kick in the second half.

Barring a miracle save from Bruno their keeper had little to do second half. Thought nooney wasted some good opportunities though his crossing was pretty decent.

Kuszczak superb, very encouraged by cms display. Can't wait for Buckley to come back. Decent point against a decent team I'd say. Created more chances than normal but wouldn't say we've come all that far from last year on that showing. Finally, corners are a waste of time and energy for us.

I forgot that one and you're right - great reaction save as he must only have seen it very late.

Those who control the purse strings in Cardiff must be feeling relieved at the £1.2m they didn't waste.

We were good. They were good. Both sides will get promoted this year.

I'm genuinely convinced their goalie had no idea about that shot.

Pick of the night was the Bruno 3 pointer for me - he nearly got it out the stadium

Barnes' free header in the first half was our best chance. Not sure why Vicente was left on the bench so long.

Overall really pleased with the performance, few badly misplaced passes but everyone played well. Just that final moment of magic in the final 3rd to unlock the defence was missing. Vicente and Lua Lua to start on Saturday ahead of Dicker and Noone for me, then we'll score.

Most importantly, I'd give my Balti pie a score of 6/10, bit disappointing.

One too many drinks I think. Bridders was a class act as usual.

Defensively he was great, but he did misplace a few passes which was unusual

I was walking my normal route back after the game, down the side of the railway track towards the 'Scoomb, and they've only put an 'effing great car park on the site of the demolished Bridge building, meaning about 4000 people bottleneck as cars try to get out of the old Falmer School tunnel FFS! Sort it aaaaaaart double lively please
