Not even a frost in HH overnight. Just watched BBC forecast though and it has us down for snow on Weds ?. Netweather.tv says nothing until Friday but does jump to 95% for Friday night.

Diddly Squat ! Seriously these snow events are always no shows down here so I expect the latest snow events for weds and friday to be derailed at the last minute with a change of wind direction or a lip of mild air. It will be cold but dry all week and mild , wet and windy by the weekend.

What are you basing that on Uncle?

What data are you basing this on, or is it just a 'gut feeling'?

Nothing here, shows that the Met Office forecasts aren't always right either !!!

Seems I was right !!

Is the Birmingham game looking under threat at this stage ???

Yes, very much so.... the outlook is borderline here (at least on Saturday) as the milder air is due to push into the South, but the Midlands looks like staying on the cold side for much of the time. It COULD be a massive snow event for the Midlands Fri into Saturday.

Got my train tickets and everything sorted. Hope it goes ahead.

:( Good job we haven't bought advance train tickets.

The 06z GFS is being uploaded o netweather now and has the warmer air moving in Friday night, even for Birmingham. Most recent UKMO & Fax has low moving to our south and high to the north. That set up = very strong easterlies.

Yes, 6Z is a little more progressive. Still has a snowy start for us:

In fact looking here, there's snow in the Brum area all the way to Saturday lunchtime..

Computer model weather forecast charts

you need to go to Uk+ and Prec Type - use 06Z data... simple

Can't see any snow opportunity for us now until 25th onwards. All gone against us now, but Birmingham may be interesting as they are looking likely to get some Friday night.
