I travelled along the seafront to avoid the Falmer rd and A27 back to portslade and it was clear.
Have to admit, I found it a lot harder now I have an automatic - and this is probably a problem for a lot of people.
The scarf is of the team "Metalurg Zaporizhzhia" ... I know you were all guessing that correctlyThere's enough wintery weather in our Wiltshire village that people are having to use snowcats to get aroundView attachment 194828... here's ours
At least, of you get stuck, you can keep warm for many many hours without having to run an engineHave a feeling it'll be very difficult for those in EVs. My ID3, even in "Eco" setting, will cause problems on a slippery surface as soon as you touch the accelerator. If hill is steep enough, won't be able to just roll away by releasing brakes due to hill-start assist features that mean you have no choice but to apply power. At which point wheel spin kicks in.
Ha, there is that. Fortunately don't need to head out tonight, so it's sat nice and still on the drive. At least, of you get stuck, you can keep warm for many many hours without having to run an engine
Has she got up Coldean Lane yet? They've just turned round at Asda & are trying to get onto the Lewes Road to Coldean Lane that way. The police officer advised them to turn off onto the A27 & double back. I think the policeman must've been on drugs as it's stacked.Fun?
My wife is currently stuck in her car near the bottom of Coldean Lane trying to make it home from work.
Traffic at a standstill on Coldean Lane and A27
Have to say here in Patcham trying to get up one of the hills an hour or so was incredibly difficult bearing in mind there really isn't a huge amount of snow - just incredibly slippery so turned round, made it home and walked it instead. Loads of cars in trouble. Easy to blame drivers with no experience but it really wasn't easy to maintain control.
You make a great point. Me in my smelly 4 x 4 no problem. All these EV drivers need global warming so we don't get snow.Have a feeling it'll be very difficult for those in EVs. She was going down Coldean Lane, apparently wasn’t bad when she left Ditching Rd at about 3.30.Has she got up Coldean Lane yet? Dunno about other EVs but my Tesla Model 3 is dual motor and deals with snow/ice really well - it also has an "off-road" setting for when the conditions get messy.Yeah. We simply don't equip our cars for this sort of weather. Vast majority of cars will be fitted with tyres suitable for dry weather / rain, not for snow. As much as we like to blame drivers for not knowing how to drive in the conditions, the vehicles simply aren't properly equipped for it either.
Edit: and modern CVT-style auto or EV it's even worse, as you don't have the tools to minimise wheel spin risk by using a higher gear.
Waiting for the train at Falmer nowFingers crossed that they can at least get into Coldean somehow. Hope your partner is home soon. Your turn to make dinner & have a hot drink waiting for her!
The A27 is a mess right past Beddingham. I just caught my husband as he left work in Lewes to warn him to get to Ashcombe as the road was closed coming up to Beddingham, and there’s been a crash on the A26 by the Z bend by the tip.Waiting for the train at Falmer now

He’s now tootling down the C7.
