It would seem the Tories have given us a hotter summer, god bless them.

Let's hope they follow through on the snow front as well. :flounce:

An odd, almost perverse bounce there Mr G... a salient reminder to us all that the days are drawing in, and winter's on its way :p

Won't be long before we are looking to the sky for the white stuff. Bring it on.

Just wondering if papa or others have any long term view of this winter?

I heard somewhere on the news last week or earlier that last winters snow was a rare (1 year in 100 years) event where two cold fronts merged and caused the cold/snow. So I doubt we'll see that again this winter :(

Long term forecasts can only be guessed or estimated using previous weather patterns.

As we know from the last 3 or 4 summer predictions, they are unreliable at best.

We have had 4 falls of snow of 4 inches or more in the last 2 winters.

4/08 - 4 inches
2/09 - 5 inches
12/09 - 7 inches
1/10 - 5 inches

Southwick.

It's really too early for the winter forecasts to be available ... of course I hope for a cold winter with snow. Once anything gets published I'll report back.

Erm, I am hoping for a mild winter. the type that means building work is not disrupted and the type which allows new pitches to grow.
